hehe. that height was actually set up on my 15"s yesterday and the car was dragging along the ground. Now, its a smidgen too high and after driving around all day getting 0 scrapage, i think i can knock it down a few. Well the back anyway :D Coilovers are only set 1/2 down. Ride is a million times better than what i had before and absolutly no body movement when cornering. Im not getting much traction on the rubber though, and combined with speedbumps has stopped many of my silly moments on our roads.
I hope those faries come back and visit me again soon :D

Dammm... That is Freekin HOt
i think a DVS style letterbox grill will compliment your car very well, solong as you go with a black mesh !
Im not getting much traction on the rubber though..
Are they cheap and nasty tyres Dee? That could account for the no traction and wobbling issues.
Also just check to make sure your tyre isnt spinning on the rim. Mark the tyre and rim with some chalk and take if for a drive. There should be some play - around a cm, anything over and the tyres havent been fitted properly.
Looks the goods chickadee!

Bloody fairies,
So when do you get your new hubcaps?
thanks for the comments guys... i still walk outside and check them out every few mins hehe. parking a good 60cm away from gutters, although i did nose dive in a car park last night (was like 45degree angle though)- almost got stuck rofl. But no bumper etc damage. I just gotta take it a little slow.
They are cheap and nasty tyres, but they played up 2 or 3 times only when i fully planted it, going around corners. (street hero :doubt: ). Ive got to get a few things done this friday, so will get them to ensure everything is a'ok.
But with regards to coilovers... i am unbelievably impressed. I dont have any issues with bumps or what not...even though my mechanic said if i got 20s ride comfort would suffer.. but not sensing any of it. Improved actually (maybe my previous setup was just rooted). One happy chooky :D

Alright! Another car down with plastic covers on their wheels, another billion to go!
Incoming Rant:
I had a car let go of its plastic hubcaps the other day in the middle of traffic, rolling straight towards my car. Luckily I could slow down safely enough and avoid it, but the drivers behind me were probably puzzled why I did that.
The last time that happened to me I ran over it and made some nasty damage to my bumper bar.
Anyway looks tops, but a little too chrome'ish for me.

Most likely because they are to stretched across the rim.. Legal, but not very good for cornering, and youre most likely running about an 1 to 2 inches less rubber on the road than the size of your rim.

Yup, the tyres look too narrow for those rims.

Looks freaking awesome Dee. To think - I've looked at this topic at least half a dozen times and thought to myself "I don't want to read about someone having a whinge about their stupid hubcaps getting pilfered". Didn't realise it would have such a happy ending :bowrofl: .

omg i had to sit down when i read that lol. ill wait till the TTF brings out thee specials with nothing to pay for like 2 years then ill get me sum rims and wat ever money i save from not payin for the rimsill ge coilovers. o man i cant wait.
if u have coilovers wat the hell is ur cr doin up so high lol lower her on her tits i mean gut :shifty: lol
well the weird angling when flooring it has stopped... i did move it to 'softer' 2 more clicks, but i dont think that was it... do these things need to settle or something?! hehe oh well, much happier. Although i do get some scraping now on the fronts when i turn sharply, but its the tyre connecting with the front plastic bumper not the guards... so it can still go down quite a lot more.
im just happy the weird directional thingie has stopped.. and if anyone knows toongabbie road, coming from grt. western to toongabbie station.. i used to have fun coming home from work there, sliding and screeching, but now... its just like a regular slow corner... damn coils...

I think thats how those tyres are meant to be. My falken tyres are like that and they are 235/35 My hancooks i have now though are the same though go to the edge of the rim

Falkens are dodgy mc-fL|ckers when it comes to tyres from personal experiences. And most of thier tyres tend to have to 'strech' onto the rim. Other brands of tyres i've experienced such as bridgstone, federal etc have a sort of 'lip' for the rim.
TF_ADVAN
26-03-2006, 06:44 PM
Its nothing to do with the brand of tyre as i have falkens on my car and they arent stretched over by any means and ive also got that little lip that protects the rim.
Its all to do with the size of the tyre to the width of the mags.

hmmm
looks phat dee....
u def need to get rid of that mudflap now!
if you've got a rear swaybar, make sure that it aint knockin on the control arm. cos mine was when it was set that low.
and i dont believe for minute that you can drive it that low on sydney streets....... the NSW RTA still owe me for a new front quarter panel and skirt endcap from MM05!!! and i will send them the bill!!!!:D

ahahhaaha. yer feel the road a little more on 20s .. haha just a little :shifty: . But speed bumps etc are no probs, so cant wait to get her lowered more on friday.. perhaps calipers painted.. color suggestions?
and nah, no rear bar. Will take off rear mudflaps when they next remove the wheels, i could only do the front. SFA chance that i can hold a screwdriver anyway under there anymore.
The last time that happened to me I ran over it and made some nasty damage to my bumper bar.
ur bumper bar!? u mean MY bumper bar... luckily it was b4 i got it painted, which reminds me that i should probly get that little bump fixed b4 dad sees it...
btw dee, car looks awesome, now im considering whether to go for coilcovers for my 2nd gen, ive driven my bros (tecodan) car and that thing is kinda rough/stiff and hits potholes like a biatch, hows coilcovers and 20's over potholes go?

Listen to a voice of experience.
Looks great now, any lower and it will be fully sick, Uleh, while it's stationary.....
But will it be drivable? Mines got a 2 finger gap between trye and guard.
I whined to the suspension guy that it wasn't low enough. Got a camber kit and wheel alignment/balance at the time (twice, 'coz still had a slight vibration after a week.)
1 year later, I can take my hands off the wheel at 100k's and it doesn't wander a bit. Can drive anywhere and it doesn't scrape. Handles like it's on rails.
But with coilovers, I suppose you can find a sweet spot, or adjust it for different conditions.:)

I have to agree as well.
I can no longer get in or out of my work driveway since I lowered the car again. EGO saw the car at the meet for the cruise the other week and how low it is now.
It looks heaps better - BUT if you know where I work it is a little bit of a problem if your car is to low to get in the driveway, especially if the boss sees it.:bowrofl:

They look mad hell low but are a *****..:P
yar, the mechanic said NO more... so no more it is :P Got 0 probs and no scrapage... no probs with speed bumps, driveways etc either... just the occassional express ramp at parking lots.. but always ways around them.:doubt:
Shes sitting pretty atm, but ive been moving the dampners 'harder' now and again as i like the feel of it. Might try softer later , but really happy with ride comfort. Big potholes are a *****, but regular bumps and whatnot that i felt on pre-coils and 15s , i dont feel with the new setup.. so *shrug*. But yer, should of brought them yonks ago for handling alone.
