What are the symptoms that make you think its going or gone??

If you want to save some money, check out the wreckers, or see if your local exhaust shop has some second hand cats.
Remember....many exhaust shops are putting rediculously large exhaust systems on virtually brand-new cars, and hence have near-new second-hand exhaust systems that are often thrown out.
It's just a matter of finding a cat that is the correct physical size and correct diameter.
AutoSpeed (http://autospeed.com) had an article on this subject a few months ago - they got a replacement larger exhaust for one of their cars for a lot less than a new exhaust system.
Cheers,
Martin.

Hi
Thank you all for your replies I will get hubby to do a ring around if we can fix it for cheap I would prefer that. Are they easy to remove and put back on?
wrexed03: My hubby has told me that he thinks its that cause there is the smell of rotton egg gas, bad fuel economy and no power in the engine.
Thanks
Tanya
