I reckon ski-port as well :). Seen many done like this and looks good with clear plastic covering it.

ski port is outta the question - just installed my rear seat covers, i say installed as i had to take out both pieces of the seat to do so!

might have to get a spare glovebox to hack into and see if it works..

hmmm and encorporated the front of it to the front of the glovebox, could look sweet, but then you lose the function of your glove box.

hmm, i take it you need a power inverter to run the ps2? i rekon putting it in the ski hole thing would be sweet, altho my sub fires straight through there so that wouldnt be fun.

im actually thinking of modding the glovebox so the disk drawer shoots out the front of it. i dont use the glovebox for muxh anyways...hmmmmm

when i get some $$ my glovebox will be full of candylol :D

i used to put mine under the passenger seat, worked fine under there. One thing i would suggest is modifying your power supply. Theres a site on the net somewhere that tells you how. I found that my inverter used to sap my battery dry too fast, and plus, the ps2 has to go from 12v to 240v then back to around about 12 inside the unit, why not just bypass the 240v stage. I think it would make for a cleaner and more efficient install. I reckon you could make it pretty sweet inside the glove box though... good luck. I just ended up buying a stand alone dvd player that fits in my centre console... stealth style.

you could easily fit a slim line PS2 under the armrest center console if you remove the little bin thingy, quite possibly even a full size version, harder to steal, harder to see, but easy to get to use if you kow where it is, and makes the cabling for the Headunit easy as, ive done it, but removed it cause i play it to much at home!

if you make the ps2 fit in the glove box, why not cut out a bit of the glove box for the cd part on the ps2, and glu it to the cd thing or something so it looks like a glove box when close but you can still use the ps2 when its closed, and the glove box works aswell, just have to becareful on how to mount it and the power supply, i'd say get a 2nd battery for your car, maybe even put it your boot, would be cool having a ps2 in the glove box, but i think i'll stick with getting an lcd screen (for gps) and dvd player hu.

hmm NEW PROBLEM!!!

connected it all up last night, everything went swell.
Now being in the glovebox the PS2 sits in a slight incline, however now it is not reading a single disc, CD, DVD, Game, nothing.

I did a search on google that had an awesome tutorial on how to adjust the laser to make it more or less sensitive, but i mean, i hardly touched my PS2.

It has been sitting in my room happily playing games for the last 3 years, i put it in the car for a week and finally connected it up last night, and now it doesnt go past the "browser/System configuration" screen

Doesnt even load past that screen to tell me it has a bad disc

Someone know what could be going on? im really pissed as i got a screen but the scource isn't working!:doubt:

Thank j0000!

for some gay reason, it loads up when its flat...so all i gotta do is take it out and load the game, then let it rest back in the glovebox....

Playing GT4 in the car is soooooooooooo cool Ah best 48 seconds of my life.

Also gerard, I noticed the screen is quite staticy (i.e. grainy), what could be a cause of this?

static in the wires somewhere. probably the av cables or power.. who knows. didn have much of a problem with me..

i know u lose alotta quality using a in car lcd screen compared to a tv. thats to be expected

I'v seen this static in cheap screens in car systems, a lot of the time they are caused by interfierance in the car (using cheap non shielded AV leads), sometimes bad earthing, make sure that all connections are correctly done (with good quality plugs or even better twisted and soldered). You can also get noise cancelors from good car audio retails (they are used to cut down the noise and interferance from the alternator for am radios in cars)

you could wrap the AV cables in alfoil for a cheap remedy...

ah well, im sick of pulling apart the centre console for now, so maybe next week.
Ill try another earthing point, first, but the Cables are asaik good quality, i mean can you get upgraded PS2 AV cables?

Because from the PS2, yellow goes to the screen, and White and Red go to an adaptor which connects it into the Front AUX input.

but cheers guys, ill try re-earthing it, or if that fails, maybe an in line filter
