OK, i need to know what Torque Wrench Setting the exuast manifold bolts are meant to be. I found this post http://aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=128156&postcount=5 and it sais that they are meant to be at 19Nm. Is that the right tightnes ? it doesnt seem like alot.
Also, does the engine have to be stone cold ? My old manifold has a ton of cracks in it and i bought a really good one :)

You may also find that the bolts are made of bronze, they were on old cars and that ment they could not be over tightened or they would strip real easy.
Does anyone know what they are made from on the gen one?

I took the old manifold off. The worst thing is the god dmn flange nuts omfg!! but eventually got them of.
What is bothering me now is i cannot get the damn oxygen sensor off. I have been trying all day. I whent down to an exuast shop but it was closed i was hoping they could remove it for me.
I also whent to repco and supercheap to just buy a new sensor but they didnt have any :(
As for them nuts, they are so dodgy. I never notcied that i was mising 3 nuts and i could take 2 of them off by hand
I whent down to bunning and bought some new nuts. Do i always have to tighten them every month ? or eventually they will settle ?

I just bought a new one ****it. My old one was ****ty anyways. One of the studs in the head is completely ****ed and i cant get a nut on it to finish the job. Whats the best and cheapest stud remover i can buy ?

its all fixed and done finally!!
The stud that was stuffed was the one closest to the water pump on the bottom row. The studs thread was gone and the funny thing is, it never had a nut on it anyways lol. I bought one of those bits with the reverse thread. I tried driling the milldle of it but that didnt work.
I ended up taking the whole manifold off again and took the stud out with my favourite shifter :D The part that shifts can be removed and put in backwards and when you do that, it becomes like an awsome grip thing.
I bought a new stud and a new oxygen sensor wich cost me $78  All good now :D
Did i recover any lost ponies ? no :doubt: It is a TINY bit more quiter and smoother though.
Next thing to do is a mild cam and i hope that goes smoothly this time.
