replace the gearbox = cheaper.

Putting a new engine in isnt as cheap as it sounds.
ECU, Tuning, Labour, Cost of engine, better brakes etc etc etc...
Not saying dont do it!! :D
*Not sure if they fit hey...

Plus then you've gotta ADR comply it and all the other crap that goes along with that :(
just replace yur gear box, u can pick a second hand one up cheap enough then just swap it over, there is too much involved so cost would be huge to change to a 3.5ltr

You would not neet to worry about a tuning if the engine came with the unit, (which is should), and you would not need to worry about the brakes.

And only if you're going from the 6G72 motor to the 6G74 motor and not some wicked engine conversion!

Fair enough.. :doubt:
I would tune it.
I would get better brakes.
Your choice.. I dont really care if you dont do it or not, Im posting what I would do not the guide on engine swaps.

I would tune it.
If the engine comes with the ECU then its not a neccessity since the computer is already set up ready to go.
I would get better brakes.
There isn't any real need to. Between the differences of a 3.0 Magna and a 3.5 Magna, there were no changes made to the braking system.
Of course, having better brakes in any car would beneficial!
Once again, both answers are assumed that you're doing a 3.0 -> 3.5 engine swap, not some exotic (3.8L included) engine.

Haha Cool Cool.
Im just a big tune freak and no matter what engine / ecu etc etc I would still get a tune after I fit a new engine into a car.
Brakes, if your getting a new engine and its more pwerfull than the one you have then get better brakes. Better pads will do! :) 3.0 -->3.5L maybe not need im not 100% sure.

Well, personally I would tune it too but if it's a straight swap, it would be an added expense of over a grand. The brakes are the same across the whole normal gen 3 range but I'd get something better too because the stock ones are actually really bad.
