well mag_evo is right he wont need to buy another air filter if the claims by k&n are true. and he wont need the cleaning kit for another year at least. so if he fixes the stuff within 12 months whats the issue?
A year between cleaning the filter. Are you sure thats right?

my bad, every 30000-50000 MILES, about 45000-75000 KMs. you only need to CHECK it once a year. so yeah clean every 2 - 3 years.

And the warranty on the K&N filters is good for 1million kilometres, if i am reading it right.
But on a side topic, how much oil are you meant to put on them when reoiling after cleaning? Like how many squirts a side from the cleaning kit bottle?

Just check it whenever you do a service. No probs then, also it'll prolly get dirty in one corner but the rest'll be clean, just spin it round :D

Why did you unplug the MAF in the first place? No need to at all, undo the clips, pull the old filter out and put the new filter in, redo the clips and your done.

On my car and i discovered on trances, you cant pull it out as the cable attached to the plug is too tight. I'd rather work with more space then work with an inch for my hand to move.

Since fitting the CAI to my car, I need to clean my filter (also a panel) almost on a monthlly basis. I get heaps of crap building up quicklly in there.
