It'll work a treat if you plan on running amps for speakers/subs, but will also sound alright just off the HU amp. It's definately got the right features you'll need for most applications.

hey man, nice choise on the hu.
i have the JVC ead touchscreen. it has a little less power per channel but it was all the other features wich is good, and i got mine for cost coz i get anything cost from jb hi fi.
anyway, i have a couple of ppl that have jvc hu, and no one has ever said a bad word about them. They are not a very well known brand in hu as far as there quality goes like compared to alpine and all the rest. but they are fantastic value and i swear by them.
go this hu coz it wont let you down.
and dont worry bout the sd slot, they never get used, just there for wank factor basically...
hope this helps

Ah! Sweet!

All good words I see written in regards to this HU and in general JVC.

This will make my purchase even better.

lol about *wank factor*

It would be cool though. An extra option that I can brag about.

Thanks for the opinions so far!

BTW.

Are my threads that bad?

I somehow end up whoring up my own thread each time.

For example, there will be like 4-5 replies from a few members, and the rest, which is probably about 90%, will be my own replies.

They cant be that bad can they?

lol

Honestly, one word... EBAY!!!! I saved myself about $400 on my Pioneer head unit DEH-7750MP.

Ok i may not have the service and support from an audio shop, but really i didn't see that being a problem as i know a lil about car audio and that if i really needed the HU to be replaced or repaired it would still be the same wait time as me taking it to the dealer as they would just have to send it back to teh manufacturer anyway.

Just a thought, but nice HU choice also. ;)

dude... its a pretty HU, but there are some great ones out there... i think alpine and clarion are the best bets to stick with. Ive just brought the new Clarion one, and even has a touch screen to keep us 'eye-candy' people happy. But its great quality. I got shut down when i wanted to buy a JVC exad or a pioneer fancy one, and im glad i paid attention.

If your lucky, you might be able to score the new clarion for around 650-700 at lifestyle in nth parra. They had a midnight sale with 50% off it the other night (RRP 1099 or something). So you still might be able to negotiate. Cheaper than the going ebay rate of 699 for it as well.

i have the model before that one.. and i love it!... i'm not really an audio tech head so i'm not really into all the SPL setting etc etc...

looks wise - sexy,
value for money - def.. (if you can get that HU for around $500 or even less..... )
ease of use and functionality - piss easy!!

Im getting it at cost price, so it wont be a budget breaker.

Oh, this HU doesnt have touch screen, but one of my friends has the other JVC deck, and it has touch screen functionality, dont get me wrong or anything, its cool and all but it gets annoying afterwards.

But still *wank factor* is 10/10 if you have touch screen. lol

By the way, how much did your clarion cost ya?

Oh, and daaaaaam, your car looks pretty schmick!

i got it for approx 500-600 (package, so not too sure). The clarion has the touch screen mate and the quality. 3 rcas out too which i didnt realise :D But they go on ebay for around 700, but is even cheaper in some stores around our area.
