ok i had enough of just having one speaker working every now n then until last week they just stopped......

thought that the amp was the problem as the fuse's kept blowing. NOTHING... changed amp's as i have a couple of old one's laying round n plug that in, also kept blowing the fuse's...went up the shop bought myself a nice little 2 channel amp hooked it up and no sound again. so i took the speakers out n put them straight off the amp thinking maybe there was a wiring issue. again, NOTHING... so i accidently lean on the speaker and they worked  and every time i pushed in the cone they would work but only slightly  so i had also had blown speakers.. i took out the cross overs which had also fried them selves up completely so back up the shop bought some new splits.
Type R ones and also finally got some dyno mat in there around them so no more holes around my speakers hehe.. and DAMM they are loud and just so crisp and clear its crazy.

sooooo y in the world would my splits just decide they wanna blow up ?
absolutly nothing has changed since ive installed them about a year ago then one day one speaker just stopped, then they swapper around and one worked then the other didnt. then one would stop completly and the other would work ???

If the amp was blowing fuses, it was shorting out somewhere. These shortages may have sent surges to the speakers, did you hear any crackles or pops before they blew?

that is odd.

if i was you, check all your cabling, as this could happen again, there could be exposed wires somewhere.

i would have a GOOD look at ALL your cabling.

did u check your speaker wires from the amp to the speakers, all the way along?
might mean you will have to pull it out of the door to check it all the way along but its a possibility that a wire could be exposed someone and thus shorting out

cheers

yeah, could be that aswell, when i put my rear seat back in, when bolting it, i squashed one of my speaker wires, causeing it to earth.

so could be that, just check ALLLLLLlllllllllllll the cables you have, its always the smallest thing:P
