View Full Version : Problems installing Whiteline Strut brace? (Am I an idiot or is it wrong?)

Okay so I FINALLY got my strut brace today....
Took about 3 seconds for me to run into troubles.
What troubles?
Well...umm, simple question, both end plates (the circles with the 3 bolt holes), Surely they are meant to be different, as in oposite orientation? Both of mine are the exact same part. Like... both for the left hand or both for right hand side etc.
Am I missing something here or did they make a mistake?

Does it come dismantled?
I would assume that you would just turn them around at 180 degrees on each side?
Could you show us a picture of what you mean?

You can freely rotate them however the connector to the brace is offset from the center, hence when you swivel one side around you get this kinda thing going:
EDIT: Diagram removed cause it looked like a wang
Kinda hard to explain, but both connectors it would seem need to be different, ie mirrored. Yet they are not. Can anyone show me pics of their whiteline brace installed?

i dont know how your brace came, but cant u flip the connector as in not rotate but actually flip it, this should solve all problems

Updated with an image, you cant remove the connectors from the ring, and if you flip one then you have a problem as it then wont fit

yep - looks like a kitting problem at their end. Definetly can't make a functioning strut brace from the bits you've described.

If it took a month to get - then it obviously wasn't in stock at Phillcom. ie: ordered by phillcom on your behalf, despatced directly from Whiteline Australia to your address.
But I could be wrong.

No your right, they were out of stock and I had to wait for more to be made.
Still, doesnt lessen the suckage factor any more. I dont blame Phillcom at all, all my blame is with Whiteline. And obviously it was just a simple mistake...but annoying at that.
