umm.....
errr...
ahhh.....
Got no idea... never had a really good look at the system or got any info on possible pre-outs already there etc.
You could hook up amplifiers with high impedance inputs to the speaker output of the HU.....
As for replacing HU's.... the 380 has some systems in it that may cause you some problems.
Basically - just go out and drive your car or wash it while the brains trust somes up with an answer.
Lucky *****.

did you just want amps and stuff hooked up to the stock headunit? or a complete replacement?
you could get the dash piece that comes with the satnav system, as that will allow a double-din H/U or a single din with the pocket underneath. then it would be as simple as any other stereo upgrade, other than that, there is the high-level inputs available on many amps, just cut the speaker wires, and run similar to RCA's to the inputs on the amp, and then the rest is as simple as wiring up a normal amp aswell.
just for an amp and sub, not 100% sure, but i guess it could be done similarly, just have to use a low pass filter.

Actually - open message to FHRX - have you opened up any 380's yet, are there any problems with replacing the stock HU with something a bit better?
If the optional screen is installed (sat nav, most radio/HU functions), can thet be re-appropriated to run, say - a carputer video output?

just 'bridge' the + of one side of the rears and the - of the other side of the rear speakers into the sub amp, and set your LPF.
Done.

Hi-level input 'bridged' off your rear speakers as I posted above is the way to do it then......
You'll probably be the first 380 with a sub (or two)

No sadly we haven't had one here as of yet. You want to be the first? :D

The dash is those is fully integrated so your options are going to be either running line convertors or making a new face in regards to adding an amplifier at the moment (this might change depending on demand in future).
However, just for now perhaps a line level convertor will do the trick for you?
I havent had a good look at the LCD in the 380.
Do you have an Aux button for the LCD? If so, you should beable to wire up a Xbox, pc, dvd etc.. (Like with the Premium sound for the BA/BF)

Which model do you have? Base model? Or higher? Base model has a din unit in it, where you can swap the stock head unit and put an aftermarket one in. As long as the New head unit has RCA outs then yes, you can hook an amp up straight from that to power a sub.
If you have a higher model, ie LS, LX, VRX, GT, then you will have the integrated face. You can still run a sub. EIther get an amp that has high level inputs already, or you can get a high to low adapter, which converts speaker level input to RCA output. You would just use the wires going to the rear 6x9's in the boot as the input for the amp. Makes the signal to noise ratio a little worse than you would have from straight RCA's, but unless you're going for a SQ install I'm sure you wont mind/notice.
