Can anyone tell me if there are connections for rear speakers somewhere on the wiring harness in the boot?
Thanks :D

I don't think so. Unless your magna came with rear speakers standard.

Easiest way to tell is pull out your cd/tape player and look at the wiring. If there are extra speaker wires there then they are prolly for rear. If not you have to run your own wires which is what I did.
Most speakers come with a few meters of wiring when you buy them anyway.

If you have speakers in the rear, then you'll have connections. Even then you might want to run higher quality cable through anyway.

No speakers? You'll have to run your own wire.

Mine was a 93 TR with no rear speakers but the wiring was there. Just had to cut the carpet and in goes the 6" x 9"s. simple job. Just search for wires near the speaker location.

so if you didnt have any rear speakers, then your car came with only two dash speakers from factory, mines a 92 TR SE and it came with factory rears

The stock tape player only has 2 outputs, so i dont know how they managed to put rear speakers in at factory? Unless it was like how my car came it they put an indash amplifier (4x50w) and used the 2 outputs from the tape player as the input for the small amp.
This is how my TR was, but it didn't look like a factory fitting.

i think SE and elite came with rears but glxi or exec didnt come with rears or wiring. but they all have space in parcel shelf, real easy to install. But yeh you might want to get a different HU if your putting in rear speakers unless you want to run the speakers in series which halves the power to them. not healthy for decent speakers tho.

elite model 2nd gens came with 6 speakers apparently, with two sets of speakers wired to the front and 2 to the back. The hu in these had 4 outputs not 2.

SE models came with 4 speakers with a hu with 4 outputs.

GLX and Executive models came with 2 front speakers, and a hu with 2 outputs.

I dunno about veradas

Well at least the 2nd gens had 6x9" speakers holes in the back! I have a TP and the hole is only 6"... a good set of 6x9"'s have a much greater capacity for bass, down to 30hz where the best I've seen for a 6" is 45hz. Thats a project for the holidays, I plane to cut the back of 6x9" speakers boxes, put the speakers on the inside and attach the now open end of the box to the base of the back shelf. I'll then cover the current holes with metal fly screen and screw it in - this should work, and the main reason why I am not going to do anything fancy with the back shelf is that if it looks like that it doesn't attract people to my new Pioneer 3850MPH head unit! lol. I have also put 6x9"'s in the front door, it sounds great :D
