Im planning to turn the car into a sweet cruiser.
Here are my planned mods
Debadge
Straight through Muffler
Superlow springs
Shocks
18s
Respray

The aim is to do all these mods for 3500.
But id rather go a bit over than do it all dodgy.

3500 might be pushing it to get the 18's and the respray. will look nice once its done though! (should spend the little extra and get TH front bumper and grill :D

forgot to mention a few things.
I know a spraypainter so hopefully my respray wont cost too much.
Also have to repair some minor panel damage.

You can't do it all for $3500. No way

you CAN do it for 3500 but its not gonna be easy. Your going to have to get the mags second hand for sure, and fairly cheap too with some tyres that still have some tread on them. Your mate is gonna have to do the painting for you basically for free so you only have to pay for the actual paint, but then the lowering is still gonna cost a fair bit... maybe if you got pedders to do the lowering it might be a bit cheaper...

anyway good luck, i think it might be possible to do it for that price, but its gonna be really hard ay.. you might get better results by spending more...

well after some discussions with my spraypainting friend today, the plans have changed. Already:cry:

Instead of my original plan of a full respray in black, i will only respray the areas that have scratches or dents. Insead i will also add a CAI.

Now im pretty confident that i can do it for under 3500 so ive lowered the budget to 3000 but hopefully 2500.

i would stick to the original budget of 3500 and buy better quality stuff.

Haha, you're dreaming mate. A "good" respray would set you back at least 3k, then your springs and shocks about 1k, you could prob get away with 600ish if you had a mate that could do them for you, your rims if bought brand new will be about 2k with 'ok' rubber. S/H you'd be looking 800-1800 (depending on rim/tyre/condition) exhaust, i personally havn't looked into, but would guess somewhere in the 200-400 area?
Also, lets not forget, you're going to wan to upgrade your audio at some stage too - what car is a cruiser without some subs crankin? ;)

well, here is the breakdown of what i plan to do
lower 220
shocks 460
18s with tyres under 1300
body repairs and any painting needed 1000
cai ??? dunno. havent researched but i think i read a DIY cai for 100.
Thats $3080 and i think i have been generous with the repairs price.
Plus second hand rims i might come in a few $$$ under budget.
I know it will be tight, and 2500 very tight, but we gotta aim for something.

PS i reckon putting aside 3000 for car mods is a pretty good effort for a 5 day a week uni student.
