Not 100% on this one, but I think only the advance models were "LPG compatible"which means stronger valves and valve seats. That being said, gas installers all seem to think magna v6 runs well on gas and aren't too concerned about the"lpg compatible engine. Especially since your car is not under warranty.
As for conversions, I got mine done at LPGas 1 in Lilydale, was around 2500 for a wagon.

LPG Conversions in Tullamarine did my TJ sedan about 6 mths ago cost $1950.00 They use your original fuel gauge. The only thing you can see on the inside is a button the size of ten cents. Under the bonnet looks neat and clean, and the tank take 64Lt from empty.

Virtually any unleaded (not pulp only) car will run on LPG if you put one of those flashlube/ moreys/whatever jiggers on. They keep the valve seats etc lubed while ya drive. my last 2 cars did a combined total of about 500,000 + K's on gas and neither had any special mods.:)

I've had Impco and Landi Hartog and I much prefer the latter. :)
Both are good systems though.

LP Conversion make and supply their own tanks and kits.

Personally I would lean towards Impco since they are the most common, and most manufacturers use them for factory gas conversions. Landi is alright I suppose, I've had bad experieces with it though in a Mercedes. The factory LPG engines were tweaked to ensure durability on LPG, same with Ford on the Egas Falcons. You "might" have valve and head issues with LPG although I doubt it in this day and age. One thing I would recommend though is change the rear springs. LPG tanks are heavy. For the best mob to do the conversion, ask your local Taxi company who looks after the fleet. Cabbies might be tighter then a fish's whatzit, but most are happy to spend money if it means only doing it once.
