Good idea, puts pressure on the government to save the environment lol.

I think Toyota was doing that for the diesel vehicles a few years ago.

Anything is good to get into the press.

Incidently, looks like on a global scale, GM is selling out the controlling stake in Isuzu - they have suggested a tender for one of the minor shareholders, mitsubishi trucks, to buy the shares.

That's an awesome idea! It will also put more pressure onto the government to buy 380's

That is a very good idea. If they promote it well it will get more people to like Mitsubishi and earn some 'respect' for the 380 and the company itself.

Even though they're only planting them for government 380's it still helps the respect people have for MMAL.

respect or no respect, it still wouldnt make me buy a 380. and im sure there's other people who think the same thing.

But yeh, if it means the government are gonna buy em then its probably a good thing.

It should also get the greenies on Mitsubishi's side. Which on a federal level would probably require a few cars and the 380 may be an ideal car for them because of the efforts Mitsubishi makes to reduce emissions.

It's good to see that Mitsubishi have stopped playing catch up with the big two, and are now playing on their own terms. For so long, it seems all of Mitsubishi's marketing has had a "see, we're just like Ford and Holden" feel about it. They should stop trying to be just like Ford and Holden, and sell the 380 on it's own merits. This is a great step in the right direction.

"The company today said it would plant the trees at its test facility near Tailem Bend, east of Adelaide, where they would offset the carbon dioxide emissions of the government vehicles." <---well we will soon have a gum tree forest at the test facility, when with all the bush in the area, they can then use it for R&D for they 4wd cars :D what a great reason to create a bush test circuit :D the Pajero is probably gonna gain the most from this marketing idea, which is also good plan in every respect, i like it

This is very good actually. It gives Mitsubishi some individuality, which is rare an Australian automobile manufacture as the products they produce are all (in reality) quite similar in size and who they are suited for.

Not really to do with this thread, but I was watching the news last night (as I do) and it was talking about some home invasion down in Brisbane. Anyway, they show a tape of the house with 2 cop cars out the front, and next to them was a 380 VRX (dark blue) Then you see 2 detectives hop into it. I thought it was cool. :D

Wouldn't it be great if they could also plant enough trees to make the factory itself 'carbon neutral'!

2 chances of that happening!
