View Full Version : Boot Light Problem.
Hey guys,
My boot light does not work, now I know its not the bulb inside the white casing cause I've changed it.
There is a small black plug near the boot lock on the boot lid, but Im not sure where it plugs to as I don't see any plugs lying around in the boot near the bumper.
My car has been hit in the rear  before so I don't know has that got an effect. I would like to know where I should start tracing the problem so I could get it fixed
Thanks for your time guys,
Regards,
Jeff

You've virtually head the nail on the head there Jeff. That plug goes into a jack right next to the boot lid lock. I've had this happen to me a few times. 1st time was a biatch trying to work it out.
Good luck.
Hey mate, I just need some spare time to start tracing the wires, apparently the wires that come outta the white casing is wrapped and links into the parcel shelf(combined with the brake light on the parcel shelf), anyway i think its that missing plug thats suppose to plug into the jack right next to the bootlock. I just hope I don't need to take things apart to find the connection problem because all the wires are covered in rubber casings.
Cheers

My bad,
Hmm, I think I was actually talking about the visible jack on the bootlid, cause I can't seem to find the plug lying around.

Now this will sound really stupid, but my car doesn't seem to have a bootlight. Does this sound normal? I have TF Sports. Anyone with that model have a bootlight? If so where is it mounted?

My TF Sports has a boot light. It's on the bottom of the parcel shelf, in the centre.

...parcel shelf....can't seem to figure out what the parcel shelf is. Does your boot look like mine by any chance? ( I've attached a couple of pics )
I've been trying to figure out where the light would go but not getting anywhere.
On your second picture, you notice the white casing on the ceiling of ur boot? thats your boot light under the parcel shelf. Open the white casing and you'll see a light bulb there.
Hope its just a blown bulb! = Easy fix!

Thanks for that. Found it. Now the only problem is trying to figure out the correct bulb to put in it, seeing as that there was no light bulb in there to begin with. But that won't be too much of a problem. Thanks for the help :D
chris
No worries, the bulb would be the same as the one in your cabin light.
