Next week I'm wanting to order a black carpet and mats and also the near black rear shelf - to match the rest of the black seats etc that are already in my car. So to make it easier I'm wanting a VIN from an 01/02 TJ Sports suich as came with the black carpet ex-factory - anyone feeling kind!? PM me if you like. Cheers

why would you need a VIN? surely if you ask spare parts for black parts they should be able to find them.

That mob that does auto carpet (I think they are in Melbourne) are now doing 3rd Gen carpets in like 10 different colours. About $170. I saw a thread on here.... search it mate!

All you gotta do is undo the bolt holding it down under the bottom part of the seat then slide it through the whole.. Is that what you mean or something else.. ive had my shelf out before when i replaced the 6x9`s.. wasnt hard at all..:)

yeah but can U get the plastic bit off the belt otherwise youll have grey plastic trim on a black shelf.
i just had my carpet done black larry, via those knox guys... turned out awsome - so unless u really can justify the mitsu costs, i wouldnt recommend.

You could simply spray the parcel shelf with black carpet/vinyl/plastic paint. It's around $10-$12 a can and would easily do the entire shelf. You could also spray that grey seat belt part thingy too.

Sorry a little off topicish but, does anyone know where I could get new moulded carpets for a 2000 TH magna? If I ordered the TE-TF carpets from http://www.knoxautocarpets.com.au would they fit my TH? Do they have the same floor plan?
Cheers

If the whole 10 year thing applies, that would be why they only have TE-TF listed on their site. But there is a good chance that those carpets would fit the later model 3rd gens as well. The actual floor plan would be the same, but you might find the clips in different spots or new clips or new holes for something that wasn't in earlier models (just speculating).
But then in any of those cases it doesn't matter, as you have to cut your own holes anyway.

oh that's easy - you undo the bottom of the belt and thread the belt and the plastic cap together back though the shelf.

yeah I was going to go the 'Gin Palace' plush route but its all done and ordered now thanks to Ego's VRX VIN - so yeah just a factory look will do for meekNmild old me!! Knox is cheaper but Mitsu isn't that horrendous - $360 for the one-piece factory carpet in black.

360 is damn alright. Really pays to ask :D. Although i wish i hadnt gone plush but something firmer and shorter, but thats only for cleanilyness reasons. The knox moulded ones are also moulded but in 2 piece... with trimming needed. Sounds better off to go with mitsu actually.

Ahhh! I see - on re-read yes I understand now. I baulked for now on the bits of plastic on the rear shelf and around the belts (so it'll be two tone - the doors are already that now so that's okay) as it seems that those pieces come as a complete belt assembly for about $90 each.

Okay I picked up the carpet today - took a couple of days to get here from Adelaide. Interestingly, its completely trimmed and all holes are in place, the plastic guides at the sides are all already in place and it even comes with new footwell kick plates. AND the underlay is already cut to shape and pre-bonded to it. Should be a snap to fit and yeah, it looks like the extra cost over aftermarket does bring some extra value to the equation

Price was $364 including GST (but that's with Trade Discount of 5% which I always seem to get at Phil Gilbert Lidcombe). Aftermarket is $140-$375.00 including freight from VIC, depending on exact cut and loop of the pile, plus about $30 for underfelt (which the factory carpet comes with already)

The carpet installed great but as its black I doubt it'll photograph at all. Did the shelf as well, but ended up vinyl painting the speaker covers etc - which didn't work so well - Bleh! Them I'll replace as soon as I can find a wrecked sports. The rear shelf BTW was $82.55 not including GST.

Its a hybrid - Sports seats, sports door cloth, (now) sports carpet and shelf, but still with the two tone grey doors and console/lower dash. So yeah its sports like but not as dark as the totally all black sports interior (which has basically black monotone doors and dash). If it stops raining this weekend for a while I'll try and get you some Pix of the overall effect.

PIX! These Magna greys photgraph strangely but I think my pale grey is lighter than that Ralliart. The trick I think is to keep the black lower door carpeted bits - visually it ties it back to the black carpet then.

yep sporting models have black/dark grey combo and execs have dark blue/light grey.
mitsu should have single color for sporting models. wanted to use TE panels to get a single color, except it leaves a little bit of dash left of the glove box lighter cause its part of the main dash.
