Hey guys i've come across a pic of a diamante VR-4!
I went to Phil Gilbert Mitsubishi in Lidcombe and placed an order on these VR-4 badges.
I found out there was a diamante released in japan with VR-4 badging which apparently came with sun roof, drink cup holders and leather interior?
The guy put in a cd rom and printed out the badging for this particular Jap Diamante as a reference for me.
I said i want them ordered and he said he'll call me back with a quote as these have to be ordered from japan with a ETA 2 weeks.
Estimated cost is around $100+ for the pair including the brackets to mount onto the grille.
Interesting huh!

$100 for some badges?
man i'd be real pissed if someone badges your car a few days later lol
Why don't ya save the $100 for ya stereo?

Yeah or a bit under i think...
I guess its just a nice finishing touch :D
Hmmm I thought VR-4 meant 4WD or something!?
Wonder why that diamante has VR-4 badges

Some Diamantes came with AWD. Only the sedans though, the wagon owner must have put the badges on by himself.
I want that lip on the sedan's front bar though! That's what I'm missing on our Diamante front bar.

Omg tell me about that wagon's front bar aye!
How nice is that lip.
Any idea if we could get one made by jetspeed or something?
I reckon you could!
It doesn't look like a diamante bar, it looks like a stock magna/verada bar blended into that extension lip!
Ohhh I see so some diamante's came with AWD.
Oh well the badges will make my verada look nice I think, specially the one on the grille.
But yeah that front bar is the best i've seen for any 2nd gen magna/verada

how come they have the magna grill/headlights/repeaters?? must be U.S. those people in photos don't look japanese either; at least a dohc in these bad boys vr 4 ... did it get twin turbo too?? awd...

In the "TR" series, all the Jap had the chrome grille and lights like I had and KB has. The sohc had the bar with the driving lights, the dohc had the bar like the aust verada, ie the snouty one.
In the "TS" series, in other words, later in the Diamante range, they had the para's like the aussie ones, again however they all had the smaller bar, I believe the DOHC had the small round fog lights where as the SOHC had the rectangular ones like the earlier sohc ones.

You will see in the gallery that there is a car called Ronnies Sigma, this may interest a few

Your car isn't a VR-4  .
That'd be like me putting a Turbo badge on my car, when it isn't turboed. Or putting a V6 badge on a 4 cylinder.
I would laugh hard at you lol.

Get over it you b*tches. Ralliart this and VR-4 that. You make it sound like you guys are driving Evo 9's or something! :bowrofl:
It was only an idea dude! And I just thought it would make the car look unique from other verada's out there. Not riced up.
And M4DDOG, your right! If you did put a turbo badge on your car, that would be really sad!
 Because there is now way you could convince me that your red shopping trolley on 18" el-cheapo tempe tyre wheels would be turbo :bowrofl:

Why dont you actually cut off a handle of a shopping trolley and weld it to the boot, that'd be unique lol.
I see what you're trying to do, but there are better ways of being unique.
Why not get a cool 3rd gen magna badge and modify it somehow?
@BOLD statement - Dunno where you got that from lol? They're 17's on kumho's and i dont have a spoiler.....unless ur just being silly :P.

As KB said, 2 completely different things, you can not agree on a subject, but still debate it like adults, or you can turn to immature name calling (just read his post, it's full of it). This is what we dont want :).

For the record dim (is that as in dull?) the VR-4 did have a cup holder (my Verada also has a VR-4 cup holder) a sun roof, well I will be rooted by an ant, so does my Verada, and they had leather, AWD and a few other nice bits like traction control.
I do not believe they had 4 wheel steer but I may be wrong on that one.
If you want to put a VR-4 badge on it, just bloody do it and live with it. I had a Diamante front and several interior bits on mine so I had the Diamante badge for the hell of it, if people did not like it who cares, I did. Now the front is sold and everything else but the cup holder are gone also I am removing it and putting std verada badges back.:doubt:

Seems as I only had useful information for once, you obviously do not read many of my posts so how about you go find some and read them and then you may answer your own questions without me wasting my time and re typing what is already in my signature. Dim, I think you have a bit of a complex.

The cup holder cost too much to bother selling as it had to be sent over from the US, which is the same as the Jap one. You need an KR XI Verada, TR Elite or any KS Verada in order to be able to fit these as it has to have climate control. My tech pages in my site, (the old one which can be accessed through the current site) will give full instructions including pictures so people like Dim can also follow the instructions

Not sure if I put this into the instruction or not, may have just told people, you could do it dash in, although with climate control you can have the dash out in under 40 minutes, I am very pedantic with everything I do with any car thus the reason I took it out so as to get the cut out as close to the way Mitsubishi did it in the first pleace.
Lethal will attest to how pedantic I am when I fitted my new alarm system, using only existing ETACS wiring and placing the control ontop of the heater box, the only way to gain access to it to disable it is to remove the entire dash, you can stop the siren however the 3 stage immobiliser will stop the car starting until you have gained access.
