hey all i scored a remote start/alarm unit cheap as chips (good chips not the crappy macca's ones that last for years) and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with wireing these up with the imobilisers and crap and even wether it would work or not
what kinda alarm is it, model wiring diagram etc..., im putting mine in atm and might be able to help you, the only problems i've hit are rather minor, i am having some trouble figuring where to mount it, and im hesitant to do the immobiliser as if i **** up it will be a real problem, but really i dont think anything will go wrong.
Any questions let me know, i could be helpful

This is VERY different to do on a 3rd gen compared to a 2nd gen. The biggest issue i think you'll face is the immobiliser. I'm under the impression that the car wont start unless it picks up the computer signal that comes from the key in the ignition?
I guess you could probably re-wire this somehow, but would make your car alot easier to steal. Disabling the factory immobiliser could cause havoc with insurance too.
I think i remember someone else wanting to do this and it was possible, but the key had to be in the ignition, which kinda defeats the purpose lol.

easy just get a programed key head and mount it under the steering column shroud close to teh ignition and refit shroud, this is on a heap of cabs we use to do it for them to save money on keys that drivers kept loosing

Either way, I'm pretty sure it is illegal to fit a remote start unit to a car.
