howdys, now i have finally installed my 4-1/2" type s speakers in the front doors and i have some type s 6x9s in the shelf but i also have some 5.5" type s sitting around, question is

do i put the 5.5 in the shelf or leave the 6x9 there and put the 5.5 in the rear door

i also have (well most of the time) 2x subs in the boot and will be aquiring a new 4 chan amp so what would give me the result, i listen to mostly hiphop/dnb so loudness/bass is probably the goal.

cheers for ur advice
ryan

id leave it as is,u dont sit in the back so who cares(and if u where in the back youd probley be passed out anyway)id dyna mat the roof of your boot lid and make up a frame and install them in there and make a nice boot install, much better showing off your subs to your mates when u have other freq in the boot.and looks cool aswell espicley with a screen in the middle.

Why dont u remove the 4.5's and put the 5.5's in the front for better response from front end?

If you're really keen, run them both from the front in custom built pod, running them both via bandpass crossovers, with the 5.5 covering low-mid and the 4.5 covering mid-highs?

cant fit the bigger ones in the front doors for a few reasons, yer i was thinking building them into the boot to give a better sound to show off with

I suggest a similar sort of thing. Perhaps it's time to make some door pods or kick panels to get the best sound in the front - where you're sitting.
