TSV6si p plater

Hey Guys,
This is my first post mainly as i have only had my p's for 3 weeks. As you can see from my user name i have a ts v6si and also its a manual. I am having a problem with the clutch making a weird noise on me and of all times for it to start, the day i got my p's and finally got to drive it by myself, could the timing have been more ****ing perfect! Whats happening is when i bring my clutch out it makes a noise which dad described as being similar to that of a socket wrench and i can feel the vibrations through the clutch pedal and it happens just before the friction point when i release the clutch.
I decided to make this post because my mechanic is unsure of what exactly the problem is from just listening to it and to find out exactly what it is he said he will most likely have to pull out the gearbox and inspect the clutch which i cant afford. When i took the car to him he drained some lubricant into the clutch pivet points area and that is what he suspects the problem is, something with the pivet points in the clutch. This problem doesn't always happen and sometimes its worse than others but it also doesn't inhibit the changing of the gears so it doesn't seem to be to bad a problem but what worries me is if it gets worse and becomes a bigger and more expensive problem!
So if anyone could shed any light on my problem it would be much appreciated.
Thanks Guys,
Andrew.
