Me and my bro whent down to the wreckers and bought an SC14 supercharger and are planning to bolt it onto his VN commodore. I am seriously thinking of buying one more for the magna since they are so damn cheap.
It would be a HELL of a lot easier to rig up the brackets for the magna than the VN (the CRS web site can eat **** we are NOT paying over $1500 for bloody brackets) the only thing that concerns me is what happens to the sensors behind the air filter ?
Can they be moved to somewhere else ? would it be better to go before or after the supercharger ?
IM guessing it would be better before it (just before the intake) because if it was after the charger, the air would be to compressed to get a normal reading. Am i right ?

OMG.... i thought u's actually bought it for the crazy sc'd 1st gen idea. atleast the dream lives on.
yeah, i'd go be4... if u think about it... most turbo setups have the AFM right near the filter be4 the turbo, so i'd prob do the same.

We bought it for $300. I thought it would be easy to bolt onto the VN but its not really. The CRS guys make a kit for it and all it really is is a few metal brackets and a pully and they want something like $1500.
If i can find the dimensions of the brackets i can get them made for me for around $50.
As for putting it on the magna, if im impressed with what it can do on my brothers VN, ill be buying another charger for my car. Ill make up some brackets and post the dimensions for everyone that wants to do this :)

Gemini I think this is a bad and foolhardy idea. I think you should abandon this plan right now.
The best thing to do would be to box up this evil supercharger and send it to me for.........errrrrrrrrrrrrr...............disposal ......yeah.....disposal. But definately send it to me.
Meh..............it was worth a shot..  :D

rofl!! you had me worried there for a second lol.
Have you had any experiance with superchargers ? my bro put it upside down and some oil leaked out of the output pipe where it joins onto the TB.
I hope its not stuffed up. It should be ok because when i turn it by hand, it pumps SO much air

Havent had experience with S/C's but I cant imagine ya bro did anything to it by turning it upside down, imagine the angles it went though in its original freight.
You have 2 options for installation:-
1 seek professional advice before you start
2 Send it to me and i'll get pro advice b4 I start :D
Carnt blame a guy for trying.lol

We drove around to some places today and this guy said that he would want ALOT more than $650 for the brackets..
But, my bro found a kit that includes all the brackets plus extra's for $300 so we will see how it goes. Like i said before, if im impressed with it on my bro's commie, im going to get one for the magna for sure :D
If it was to be installed on a 2.0L engine, it would be around 7 PSI. On my bro's commie it might be something like 3.2 psi.
If i put it on my magna, it should be running at around the 4.x psi mark ?

Well the CRS web site sells the charger and kit for the 3.8 V6 and they reckon that it would be ok because it runs low boost.
It looks like i will be getting a second charger because my bro just bought a kit from ebay including piping, brackets, pullies and some othre **** all for $550. I just hope he doesnt turn around and say we cant have it because its to cheap

Plans are put on hold for now untill i can get my elante on the road ( among other **** ). I am still very interested in supercharging it though.
How could would a supercharged elante be ? :D
When i can get some time, i will try to figure out where i can mount it. Its pretty hard because the only place it would go nicely is inbetween the engine and the radiator but it would get really hot there.
Another spot would be where the battery is but then i would have to put the battery in the boot but the super charger would keep nice and cool(er).

You could be really out ladish and put the super charger in the boot running of an electric motor....
I don't know if a super would mind getting hot all that much, correct me if I am wrong, but a turbo works on exuast gases so it would get VERY hot and it doesn't seem to worry them, should be ok with a super charger.
