View Full Version : Solara Magna's
Hi,
I have been offered a 2001 Magna Solara (115k kms) for $9k - $10k
or a
TJ Sports Series 1 2000 (110k kms) for $8k - $10k.
Now im wondering which is better.
And what is the difference between the 2 models?
Thanks

the sports man, its cheaper, and its a SPORTS! same k's, same series only a couple of month different, i think you get everything that solara has in the sports, plus the sports got the body kit, suspension too i think, and the extra few KW'S :)

if both are autos then u get the tippy 5 sp in the sports which makes a world of difference... + the 13 extra kWs & better suspension

No bodykit, just a bit of extra color coding.

solara is one of the lower luxury models, so i'd say the sports would have most of those options fitted already.
if there is the option between and auto and manual, take the manual
sports all the way... i looked at both before i bought my sports... go the sports dude

But if it is series 1 magna, there is no tippy?? or is there??
If there isnt, how hard would it to get a sports series 2 ecu into a series 1 and the tippy?

The Solara was a value pack on the Exec. It included: A/C, alloy wheels, ABS and airbag(s). It also had unique trim and later models had two tone paint. It bridged the gap, a very small one I might add, between the Exec/Advance and the Altera.
Sports are SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO much better.
