Hi
Just got a problem with one of my wheels. i got Mags the other day and i went to paint the caliper and i could not get the lock nut off. so i went back to where i purchased the mags and asked them to have a look. the stupid F#@k wit snaped off my stud (screw thing) so now im down a nut (on the wheel lol), and i had to buy another set of lock nuts. dose anyone know how to put a new stud in? coz old mate wanted to charge me $150.

cheers

he told me that it was a common magna fault and its not their fault and i have to pay. It only snapped off coz the D#ck head crossed the thred on it when they put the mags on. they refuse to pay for it.

dont ever go to "bob and tom's tyre power".

Small claims tribunal will fix them up.

Unless they have an engineers certificate stating that it is a common fault and not the fault of the dickhead, then the court will rule in your favour.

Even just the threat to take them to court will see results I reckon.

Thanks for the hint to avoid such dorks. I occasionally drive up to Shoal Bay past Newcastle.
But - act soon just like all the other guys say. Keep cool and try to get them to put something in writing, like a work report or what ever - you need written evidence, not verbal.
And THEN hammer them.
Magna fault my ass too!!!!

:)

seriously - get the consumer (what's it called?) place to give them a call on your behalf.

what they're saying is just shit - they should pay for any damage caused as a result of THEIR actions.

To change the stud the hub has to be released from the wheel braring to get the clearance to insert it.
This will mean new wheel bearings on that side as well.
Depending on the model may be cheaper to go to the wreckers and get a new hub/knuckle assy.

Threaten to take them to court (i'll represent you,  - only a couple of years to go on my law degree).
But seriously, you have a clear case against them in negligence. All the required elements are easily enough to establish. All you need is a
1. A duty of care - there is authority establishing this is proved in any situation of customer and retailer/seller
2. A Breach of the Duty - Clearly in breaking the F*&N thing bhe breached the duty
3. Remoteness - the dameage suffered by you is not too remote. i.e. it is to be expected that the guy breaking it would effect you.

hrmm if he knew it was a 'common magna fault' why did he brake it? He should have known about it and made sure he didnt brake it.. what a spastic.
