I couldn't find any threads on installing a sub into a TS magna, so I thought I'd ask.

I just bought a clarion 12", 200W 2 channel clarion amp and a sealed box. I think I should be okay installing it all, it's just that I'm not sure where to run the RCA and power leads to the boot. Is there a coil I can follow? Also, I want to replace the stock wiring for my 6x9's with the wiring that came with them. Is that possible?

I'd like to hear from anyone who has a clue on what to do.

take your back seat out, and run the leads under the carpet. used a coat hanger to thread them through.

be sure to run the rca and power down opposite sides of the car. i just sent them both through the middle, but as a result i get read bad road noise (whinging noise that rises and falls in pitch with the revs)

with the speaker cable it should be easy. just run new wires along beside your freshly laid rca cables, disccnnect the old wiring and plug the new stuff in. no need to completey remove the old stuff, just get it out of view. it wont be doing anything any harm.

Easier Way Would be to also Take the BACK BACK seat out, the bit you put you put your back on. I didnt do this for some reason, and it hurt my poor arm.
If you take the back seat out, the hole is right there that goes into the boot, no hassles.
Now there is a grommet above the drivers side pedal assembaly (sp) this is where you poke the power wire through to the engine bay.

As Sidewinder said no need to take things out, but i did just so it elimaties any problems IF there is one.

Also taking out all 3 seats + all door sills is a good idea, Will take you 20 minutes to get all of them out then you will have complete access to the whole floor.

Hope I helped:)

Thanks guys, I'll get to it as soon as possible. The weather sucks today, so I can't do it today... So typical.

EDIT: My dad offered to screw the sub into the box just before, and he used the power drill. He ended up using the power drill through my SUB! Argh! So now there's a hole through the diaphram of it. It's not too big, it's only through the edge. I'm wondering how much performance will be lost, if it will work at all...

I'd be giving him the price, name and address of where you got yours from then never letting him near power tools again, some people just can't be trusted with them... I am one of the lucky ones, you can trust me, promise.

No-one has as much respect for your own belongings as YOU!

thats why I only let professionals near my stuff cause friends/family have that "its only a speaker" attitude.

Sorry to hear dood.

Okay, so I'm doing the wiring atm, but I have a couple of questions.

I still can't find the place to thread the power through to the engine bay. I can see a 'grommet' so do I need to jam it through there? It seems like it will be a really tight fit.

Also, where do we connect the remote turn-on input? I'm sure it has to be connected to the source unit, but I don't know where. I've already used all of my connections except for the amp rca connections. It can connect to a 4 channel amp, in case you were wondering.

Yes, jam it in there, i managed to fit 1 x 2AWG and 2 x 12AWG wires through there, just litterally POKE it through.

There should be a wire on your HU with "remote" on it, This then goes to the remote on the amp, USUALLY Between Power and Ground.

Thats all i can say really

not all headunits will have a remote/source wire....this is usually only the case in repco $65 cd player jobbies...if this is the case in your car, simply wire it in line the accesories wire.

Thanks. I've connected the remote turn on cable to the remote turn on connection for the power aerial. I read somewhere that it works, even if you're not set to radio. That's correct, right?
