I've had a problem with TS magna 3.0l for a while. The whole car 'shudders' when it's in gear. This is most noticeable when it's stopped or climbing a hill. From what I've read in previous threads, it seems that a lot of people have this problem.

I finally worked out that the distributor cap had a small crack in it, causing the spark to arc. So, just a simple replace.

Is this the problem that other people are having with their 2nd gens? Or is it something completely different? How did you fix it?

Also, for anyone who has taken the cap off, I want to know how the hell you got it off. Seeing as it's pretty much situated under the engine (I don't know about the 2.6 models), you have to hope the distributor has stopped in the correct place. It's really annoying. Has anyone got a workaround for this?

It is common with a lot of cars, with the v6, you do not need to take off the manifold however it does make it easy if you lift it a bit, this saves scratching the cap with the rotor when you are trying to manouver it off.
