Hey guys,
Basically, have got a hold of $13k plus trade in/sell my TE, just wondering what magna should/could I be aiming for?
I was going to ask what is the difference between a LS and a ES TL, but I looked at the mitsu web site.

Thanks guys and girls.

You can get TLs from Mitsi dealers for $14990 after you trade in your car($3000 trade in).Thats with warranty and all. I think it may even be $13990 now.

As said before a TJ VRX wouldnt be a bad buy.

I would LOVE a TJ VRX... but they r very hard to come by in my price range.

Just wondering, if I can get a 2004/05 car, would it includ the 10 year warrenty or the normal 3 year(5 year) warrenty?

10 year "Drivetrain" warranty DOES NOT transfer from the 1st owner.

There isn't really much in it. The ES is the Executive, and the LS (I always liken it to the Altera LS for some reason) is the Advance. You really just get better seats, Mag Wheels, and a few other goodies (6 Stacker?)

If I were you, I would track down a TL/TW VR/VR-X. They look and go better than the ES, and if you like a Manual, there is going to be a better chance of getting one. The VR-X also has a 5 Speed Auto, and a Leather Option.

There you go then. Look for an LS, or if you can stretch, an LS AWD, however these may be out of your price range.

Good luck with the hunt. Also, try to sell the Altera Privately. You will get more this way than through a Dealer, and you can add the money together to get your next Magna.

Sure you cant sell you current Magna for more than 5K? :doubt:
There are TEs selling around that price I dont see why you cant sell your car and buy it straight from mits in which you save a thousand? Try it, advertise it in the Quokka and then if you sell it you could get your TL/W at still better price.

i say just sit tight for a few more months on the $$ and get something around the $20k mark... you wont regret it then.

Kind of agree, with fuel prices on the rise I don't see why prices won't drop. Just hang on a bit more I believe you will get what you wanted.

What is the difference between a VR and a VRX (TL Model)??

There is no VR-X Body Kit on the VR. The VR is a renaming of the TJ Sport. It has the same motor as the VR-X, but is quicker, due to the weight of the Body Kit on the VR-X.

If you can find a limited edition, go for it, as it basically has Rali-Art Suspension, Mags etc.

is LS comes in AWD only??

Ive been reading http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/mitssite/jsp/pages/vehicles/specs/specs.jsp?groupId=1#

And there is no mention of a LS or a LS AWD, just LS

Dude, just look on the internet...stuff Mitsubishi's site...like they give a crap about updating the info on Magnas now that they don't make them.

Try carsales.com.au research (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.research_results?price_min=&price_max=&search_type=21&make_name=MITSUBISHI&selected_make_index=&model_name=MAGNA&grade_name=&keyword=&year_min=&year_max=&cs_segment_name=&body_name=&door_num=&seat_num=&cs_trans_id=&engine_low=&engine_high=)! Look I've even typed in the search query for you. You can compare features from vehicles and what power outputs, etc they have. 1000% more accurate than redbook, plus it usually gives a little desciption of each vehicle.

And to answer your last question, the only models that came in AWD in the TL (Series 1) range were LS and VR and perhaps one of the Veradas?. Although you had to specify that you wanted an LS AWD as they also produced FWD LS too at a lesser price. In the TW (Essentially TL Series 2), they discarded the AWD VR and put an AWD VR-X which was more appealing visually, along with the AWD GTVi. The LS still had the option of AWD alongside FWD.

And on recomendations, manual is the way to go...and that said so is any car that came with 163kw+ (TJ Sports, VRX and KJ GTV + TL/TW VR,VRX and GTVi). But if you must get auto (yes tiptronics are autos!) try and find a 5spd tiptronic auto opposed to a 4spd as it makes the world of difference. A list of models that came with 5spd tiptronic are below:

TJ Sports + VR-X (All series)
All KJ Series 2 (2003+) Veradas including Ei, Xi and GTV
TL/TW VR, VR-X
All KL/KW Veradas regardless of year or equipment level
ALL AWD vehicles, including TJ and TL/TW

I really mean no offence by this but after you have been part of these forums for nearly 2 years (and having owned a 3rd gen), I would have thought that you would have known half of this stuff already? Understandable if you had a 1st or 2nd gen (or completely different car for that matter) but don't you have any ambition to find out more about the car that you own?
