My interia seats in me tr exect are pretty r.s. and i saw a nice full set of verada seats at the wreckers(no-elecs) just wondering on the legallities of doing a swap and weather they will juz swap right ova both front and rear?
It should be just a straight swap, no problems.
Dont quote me on this though.

To push things a bit further... i think I read somewhere KB that you mentioned that 3rd gen seats also go straight into 2nd gens? Wouldn't be surprised considering where there are plenty of carry-over measurements (such as wheels, etc).

Yeah, 3rd gen seats use the same rails, so im sure they go right in!

TZABOY did that to his TS magna, the 3rd gen ones go in front and back, but the plastic bits on the side have to come off as the 3rd gen rear seats are a little wider.

i'll say too that the bottom part of the rear seat doesnt bolt down using the 3rd gen seats; fits flush as though a bit longer rear seats in ther 3rd gens

does that mean the bottom of the back seat isnt secure? thats the only thing stopping me from going out and sourcing a 3rd gen sports interior

yep unsecure but you have to pull it hard to get it out ie it doesnt come out easily unless it is being ravaged on....

Well i bought the seats 2day and bolted in easily. Cost $64 for the whole rear seat from pick a part. I dont know if anyone else has noticed, but are the seats out of the SE's and verada's slightly firmer than those of the normal execs? my old ones are "squishier" than the ones i just put in.

you wouldn't notice unless you owned the car i plan to just run black carpet down the sides it'll blend in no worries

Just to add something for the Insurance...
Always use your original bolts (or new OEM bolts from Mitsu) as these are the bolts with the correct thread length & strength.
I have 2nd Gen Verada leather seats in my 2nd Gen Exec Wagon. Changed my insurance to cover the Leather Seats - didn't get asked anything.

I saw pics of it they look so good!By memory (and that ain't too good - ask my wife lol ) the leather interior cost me around the $350 mark which included front & back seats and door trims (with leather insert bits).
(for those who may be interested (pics are halfway down)... http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17452&page=2)
Also, went to the wreckers the other day looking for a new centre ashtray (broke mine). At first I was having no luck - all broken or weathered - then I spotted a Daimante front cut (normal SOHC engine & cracked grille) but it had a perfect condition ashtray & a Leather Centre Console Lid (same leather as my interior). :D

Wish our wreckers in sydney were like the ones you have in victoria!
Can't come across any wreckers besides pick and pay less
I love that leather you have in your magna!!
