Hey Guys
Ive just bought a new HU for my VRX,,,
Its a JVC 6105,, has anyone else installed one of these...

its a very simple process

arm yourself with some heatsrink, a hairdryer, multimeter and a soldiering iron and this http://members.optusnet.com.au/miltonf/car/mitsu/console/stereoremoval.htm , and youll be fine :P

It's a shame ur not in Vic, i would have helped you out.

I've installed many systems in my time, that i've lost count.

Do you have any electronics knowledge, or are you more worried about the physical installation?

Hey thanks,, the install isnt a problem,, just wondering if anyone has had issues with the fold out screen and clearence at the back,,

heatshrink is ok but i prefer rubber tape (self amalgamating butyl rubber) never comes loose and keeps out moisture if there is any and looks tidier

just comes in a roll like electrical tape ... cost about $25 and last ages ... i use it all day everyday at work and i get about 6 weeks out of a roll

You wont have any problems its a standard DIN size.

i have that headunit with a slightly different screen fits fine

quite a good headunit

i have the same head unit and i think its great i can fault it at all.
you might have a problem with the surrounds of both units not fitting on thats probably all.

yeah surrounds fitting on most aftermarket units are always a problem, although a little modifying of the dash would fix this easily (if you're that bothered)
