sup?
ok, the other day i did an oil change, put in the right ammount of oil blah blah...
now while im idling at traffic lights my check engine light will come on for bout 5 secs then go off again?
now i no this usually happens because of certain sensors, so i checked all the ones that i no where they are (dont know names so i have attached pictures)
i found that the plug going into my MAF has a broken clip, and is quite loose, also the plug going into something on my plenum is severely coroded, and wen u wiggle it while the engine is on it stalls - so i sprayed it wit some WD40 and now it doesnt stall wen u wiggle it(the shiny stuff on the plug in the pic attached is wd40).
have i fixed the problem? or is there anything else i should look at?
The clip on the Air flow sensor breaks pretty easily, mine is broken too but it still sits in place properly and doesnt fall off.....
the other plug yur talking about on the Throttle Body is actually your TPS (throttle position sensor) it tells the ECU the position that the butterfly is in. The plug looks pretty f*$#d, i had mine replaced at a wiring loom place, looked nowhere near as bad as that though, cost like $15 to have it changed. I'd say that'd be your problem.....
I also had the one that goes onto the Distributor done at the same time. Wouldnt hurt to check them all out.

Could buy a can of Electrical cleaning spray almost any auto shop should sell it this will clean and dirty or corrided electrical plugs but do read the instructions very carefully on the can.

If your talking about the TPS switch, which does get badly corroded, its $200 for a Bursons one and around $400 for a mitsubishi one.
This was my idle problem, once I change my TPS my idle was perfect.
(was found not to be working properly)

The clip that is broken is for the air intact sensor, without this your car will run like s***house you should clean up and corrosion because that will cause eratic behavior especially if you have an automatic
the "wiring loom" place i went to do the wires for custom ECU's and stuff, not all auto electricians do this. But i guess a auto elec might have the plugs.

Did you happen to fill your fuel tank around
the same time as doing the oil change? Just check your fuel cap was replaced (is sealing) properly. Simple I know but apparently the 'check engine light' will come on when the ECU senses lower fuel pressure than it expects. Stopping at lights seems a logical time for such to occur. Otherwise, it might be worth hooking up the diagnostic probes to get the ECU code. If nothing comes up, leave it connected and go for a drive. The code should be produced when the light comes on to let you know what the ECU is trying to tell you.
