Anyone seen those tv ads for the current mitsubishi lancer sedan?

Its advertising a 2.4lt MIVEC Engine.
I am wandering if this would be a close fit into the 92-95 TR/S 4cyl models.
Might be able to stroke it a bit larger too :doubt:

what do you think?

better off with a 3L mivec conversion for cost and perfromance.

You gotta be kidding right? the lancer has to be auto then, theres no other way. You sure he doesn't have the 2L? Doesn't the lancer hit 100 in around the 9 second mark? What mods do you have done to your car?!

dont mock it till ya drive it
they are very well spaced ratios and with the extra capacity, and mivec, it rides a wave of tourqe

Not mocking it at all... they're actually not too bad at all. I've been in a rental one being thrashed. Just the first gear that lets it down mostly.

Hey! If you like the 2.4 L Lancer engine so much, just buy the whole car!!
Honestly, you'd have major problems with a conversion - the engine would be very expensive, the engine mounts would be different, and the engine/gearbox is reversed compared to the 2.6L Magna.
My wife has a 2004 2L Lancer - brilliant engine, brilliant fuel consumption, but it sure needs to rev to get the performance. In a heavier Magna body, there would be much poorer performance , poor fuel consumption and a need to rev the engine all the time to get reasonable performance. Just buy a Lancer!!!

PS The 2.4L engine would be brilliant - as long as you leave it in the car it was designed for! LOL
