Ok I got Mr Bishi CD Player on the way and we both brought this up now I would like to know can I plug the CD Player from a TE Magna into my TR Magna straight away with the TR Loom plug or do I need to get one from a TE Magna and wire that into my TR.

It's a TE Magna Genuine CD Player.

Can i ask why you didn't just get a cheap 2nd hand deck? I found a $72 Pioneer cd player circa 1999-2000 on ebay. Works like a gem. Anyways i am not quite sure if both those stock decks use the same loom.

Well I'm not fussed over what it can do as long as it plays My 80's CD collection :D

and I only paid $20 for it.

All I want to know if the wiring from a TR Tape deck loom is the same as the TE CD Player Loom.

If anything does anyone one have the wiring diagram for both.

The Stock deck you bought might just use a plastic wire connecter, and the connecter may vary in your 2nd gen, hence having to expose more wire's from the Head Unit. WHo in their right mind would want to put in a stock CD Player anyway.

As stated before

My TR onll has the crappy tape deck which it doesn't play tapes it eats them

So I'm upgrading it.

So it sound slike I'll need to do some wiring then. :doubt:

Dude, i'm just guessing here, but the Head Unit your going to put in, is going to be based on clip to clip. If that's the case, yeah it's all fine and dandy to cut the plastic connecter off the wires to the car, but how the hell are you going to get access to the wires inside the head unit? Pay $70 and get a sony one, brand new.

PS. Cause you deleted that other thread I have now lost some information that I needed.

Sidewinder "werd." As in it states that there all the same "up to 1989-99" ? I gues this means I can just plug it into my TR using the TR plug no re-wiring involved. Sounds like good news to me.

The other thread was DIFFERENT to this one your not making sense. Why delete a thread by someone that was not the same but DIFFERENT ???????????????????????????????????????

And I'll say it again for the mentally handicapped in this forum...

The thread YOU created was exactly the same. The responses of course were different, that's not my problem.

YOU posted the same thing TWICE in two different sections, which is just wasteful and annoying.

It's not MY problem that you did this.

If you wish to continue this that's fine, but you'll be on holiday...as you're simply arguing for the sake of it.

IF you had simply approached me in a civil and mature fashion, I would've seen what I could do for you, but since you insist on being a child by insulting (yes you did insult, don't backpedal) I wont do jack for you.

Thank you very much Bain

Now back to the topic SideWinder can you tell me the info again on the plugs of the CD player unit you mention something about a (spdif) connection and I'm not knowing what this is.

For those who might know I am talking about 2 extra small plugs one is a small square plug and the other a small round plug a picture of the rear of the unit is attached.

After alllllllll this trouble you've had with it, you might be better off buying a 2nd hand CD player with harness attached, try www.caraudioaustralia.com

Seems like this is quite a problem, i mean if you could get the harness that'd be sweet but i mean it doesnt even have a single pre out!

What problem it's just a matter of getting the harnes and it's in the car.
I've been watching Ebay for secound hand units and they look like crap, scratched up, faded, parts missing, short wires that you can't crimp onto etc etc etc.

Like I said before I'm not stuffed at what it can do and how big a sound it makes just as long as I can play my CD's.

Have you considered just getting the one where the wires are short and just soldering on more wire? Or are they too short for that.

If they are you could carefully remove the wire from the plug itself and then put a new one in...Would take a lot of time and be a pain...but it'd work.

It's a consideration but there still not worth buying as part of the faces are always missing like the shroud that goes around the face or the face is worn and all scracthed.

If Knight Rider got back to me with postage for his tapedeck and cd stacket also out of the same model magna TE I can use the harness he has on that and use the stacker with the cd player.

Killbilly

Oh sorry dude I thought you were talking about a harness on it's own, not as part of a cd player.

I thought you already had that

Yeah I got one now I have the plug with wires just need to wire it up now but I did find that the TE has a different color code going on there so I need to know what wire is what.

It's usually pretty simple.

You'll generally find there will be 3 or 4 coloured wires that DON'T have a paired colour and your earth (usually black). These are your power, ignition, 12v and power aerial(sp) (and earth as said before), the other coloured ones that can be paired up will be your speaker + and -

Hope that helps a bit, you'll usually find the power ones are grouped to one side.

In all there are 13 wires 6 are thick and 7 are thin.

These are the colors for the thick wires.

Black / Red Strip
Black / Blue Strip
White / Red Strip
White / Blue Strip
Red / Black Strip
Blue / No Strip

These are the 7 thin wires speakers as we think they are.

Yellow / Red Strip
Yellow / Blue Strip
Grey / Blue Strip
Grey / Red Strip
White / Black Strip
Green / White Strip
Black / Yellow Strip

So that's the wires on the TE Magna plug to plug into the TE Magna CD Player

Ok very happy today I got the CD Player into my TR today :D
Works just as it should did have a little trouble at first as the secruity light didn't flash and didn't want to turn on but the lights did when I turned to the ACC position it turned out it didn't like the fact that the speaker's were not yet connected and I thought that was odd well connected the front speakers and hey presto it came to life.

What I didn't get is why once turned on for the first time it didn't just ask for the code to be put in before you could use the radio it let me use the radio and CD Player it only asked for it when I went to change the clock thought this was odd not much of a secruity feature on it it's only protecting the clock. ???

Tomorrow I am installing my $19 speakers from Streathfield I brought so she has rear speakers at least and while I have things apart I will wire up my clock as if I remember right from the wiring diagrame from my manual I can just connect it to my radio.
