At the moment I am doing a custom interior... I am just starting with all the paint work etc so I just wanted your thoughts on this.... basicly I have painted the bottom half of the trim black and lef the top standard and I have split the 2 with a chrome strip.... What do you think...???

Should look mint when it is finished... any other pics of it? i might do the same thing with mine... what paint did you use?

well stuff you all.... lol .... *jokes* Nah thanks for your opinions... thats what I asked for... I will continue on and see how it turns out all the door trims and center piece's still have to be done yet so we'll see how it goes...
I will keep this updated with pics as I go...

yeah... thinking of trying to find a black pinstrip instead of the chrome strip ..... hrrmmmmm...

I would go with a black strip or no strip.

Also, I would also be concerned about paint rubbing off onto clothes. I know paint dries:nuts: but it could still rub off depending on paint/surface type. Just a thought.

not sure if i like it, i think the chrome strip is a bit too much, maybe a thinner one would look better. but might look better if you painted the center console a lighter coulour, maybe a silver of chrome it??

I'm with the thinner strip crowd.

The idea is good, just work a little more on the execution and it'll be sweet.

NO STRIP, the black looks good buddy i like it better then that crappy light grey colour but the chrome is going too far looks ricer.

I'd go all black and keep the thick chrome strip, I don't think it's too big personally.

Your underdash work looks pretty good as well phreak, but for what it's worth I'm in the thin strip/no strip club.

phreak answered these questions for me in a PM.

the chrome strips actually the stuff for wheel arch surrounds and he got it from repco.

and he painted it while it was in the car... he just masked it really well.

have i left any thing out phreak?

im guessing its got a sticky backing on it? as its for wheel arches.

and im not sure. doesnt that piece stop very soon after the seat.... so if you put the seat right back? im just saying what he told me.

Mr Bishi is yours a TJ? howcome your interior on the bottom half is dark grey like the top mines a crappy light grey colour grrrrr :(

I'm enjoying the two tone... not 100% on the chrome strip. Reminds me of a late 1970's car, where there was as much chrome detailing in the car, as there was outside the car.

it did come with some double sided tape with the pack but didn't stick to well so I just bought some good interior glue from repco aswell.... did the job good....

Yes I did take out the center console bits to paint them... its a little odd thought because I bought 4 cans of paint and one of the cans came out a different colour than the rest so the top bit of the center console is different lol....

yeah looks ok, i think ya need some of those magna floor covers, im going to buy me some on monday, i hate the feeling of not having any mats. my carpet is black and you can see any bit of crap on it.

But yeah anyway, get the mats, that way the black paint will mix in a bit better when you cant see so much of the carpet,

See under your stereo, you have something different where the ashtray would be. Ive never seen that before, whats in there hehe.
