i have another question for anybody, does the badges on the boot of my magna sports have plugs? like will there be holes if i take them off? or are they just stick on?

Also, i have sprayed my tailights wth night shade, sort of a dull look, if i washed them will the paint stay on there or am i going to blow the tint off the lights haha. I havent put any clear coat on it yet.

Night shade won't come off with a wash :) not a chance aslong as you let it dry properly for 24 hours.
For better wear and tear protection and a nice shiny tinted finish instead of a dull look get some clear coat acrylic paint :)

Some like it better without the badges, but I like it with. Without IMO just makes it like a factory magna which means I dunno if its a TH sports, VRX, TJ series 2 or whatever. Then again you can have people who know nuts and say "Its a Magna."

Two sides of a story me thinks. I sure be a proud guy to leave 'VR-X' on a real VR-X of course. Many have removed it as it looks cleaner etc...and I do agree, but is not like original badges were placed on awful spots either.

My badges are a bit crap, sand the Sports part looks so bloody ugly, im going to get a better looking one, like one thats made up, one thast not green and white or whatever ugly colour it is.

I want to put on the Chrome diamond above the boot garnish and a chrome magna badge off a TL. Should look good on black.

when debadging just be sure to heat up the badge enough, other wise you may ripp off your clear coat with the badge too. Good luck !

i used the fishing wire technique....

after you slice through the gunk you just let the bug and tar remover do the rest of the work, give it a quick cut and voila

I Took all my badges off my VRX.. I dont care what people think.. At the end of the day its a magna and thats all people see it as.. Im just happy when people ask me "Is that a magna, Never seen one look that good before".... that satisfys my EGO and makes it all worth it..:P

with debadging it helps if u use hair dryer and fishing nylon. if u hav an engine cover like the vrx or ralliart u can put the chrome magna badge on it:think::badgrin: . with night shade they dont wash off but it would really look factory finish if u clear coat it nicely

tried debadging once, got rid of all the gunk, but once the badge was off, there was an ident in the paont where the badge was....same colour as the car, but reccessed..

like this:

maybe sand it down with 2000 wet? did it still have clear coat on it? or was it just paint - no clearcoat?

yeah the gunk you are talking about is probably the glue they used, and when you got it off, you probably took some of the clear coat also. That is why it is a good idea to heat up the glue a bit, even a hair-dryer will work .

I cant suggest much other than getting one of those touch up paint guys to come around and fix it for 20 bucks, they seem to do an alright job,

I thought looking in the mirror satisfied your EGO.:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

In my opinion the car looks smoother and cleaner without the badges, every car I own, I take the badges off. Even brand new.

Except ones like the BMW bonnet one.
