In case anymore new members or current members here want to know "What sort of oil" or "How much to put" into the engine, there is a big list compiled of Shell and Mobil brands indicating how much and what to put.

Is for every Magna I believed and maybe including Verada in Australia except TW which you may refer to TL and 380s are not included, sorry.

Again, if you may want to ask "Can I use fully Syn Shell Helix Ultra? but is not stated" Answer is Yes, I have emailed Shell regarding this before.

Any other brand, you guys can hunt it yourself on internet and maybe update this thread with a new list.

Enjoy.

word of advice, only ever use MITSUBISHI DIAMOND SPECTRUM auto oil, from the dealer.. it's cheap and wont give you any problems if a warranty issue arises! any other oil, mitsu wont even wanna know about it!

I would recommend Penrite HPR 10 in newer Magna's TE-380, and HPR 15 for older magna's. Can't go wrong with these Syn fortified oils. Shouldn't use a fully synthetic in an older engine or higher mileage engine, you should probably only use it from brand new to avoid problems. (you may burn a bit of oil otherwise). Pentire SIN range is supposed to be really good, just released so with a new car I'd recommend one of those.

:doubt:

Like I said, UPDATE a NEW LIST of recommended of your brand oil not just what you use.
In otherwords if you use pentrite or Penzoil whatever help in going to the website and grab the whole list for all Magnas.

And yes it is highly recommended to use only Mitsubishi ATF.

cheers!

After doing a bit of a search into the tappet rattle issue, & seeing that most ppl have used Nulon Worn Engine additive to solve this problem, I did some research at the Nulon website & found this:

100% Synthetic Engine Oil 10W-40 Hi-Tech Fast Flowing (http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productId=syn10w40)

and this:

100% Synthetic Engine Oil 15W-50 Street & Track (http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productId=syn15w50)

ATM I haven't used either as I'm having the TH serviced by a mechanic (clutch, rear spark plugs etc) & the TW is only new. The other reason is that the only dealer of them anywhere near to me is in Sydney (live in Wollongong). + these oils cost $59 for 5L (not that's an issue though). Thought I'd let others know (if they didn't already) that these products are available, & from the blurb on the website, seem to do the business. But the proof will be in the testing. When I have I'll let you know.

Cheers
