Just put TL colour coded door handles into my black TJ VRX. Looks great. They are a pain to get to but it was worth the cut up knuckles. I put a drivers side handle in the passenger side as TLs don't have door locks on that side. The handles are reversable, you just need to switch the mechanism with the existing mechanism. I dont know if you can just leave them out as the locks are connected to the central locking and have wires hanging off them, didnt want to risk the central locking not working so i took a punt and it paid off. They came colour coded so i didnt have to paint them. Bonus. With the black handles on the car is now chrome free, it looks sinister.

Good work. I fitted TL door handles to my TH 2yrs ago. I left the LH door lock out (as per TL-TW) and have had no central locking problems at all. :)
What is the cost per unit for the door handles

What do you mean by no more chrome.. The VRX didnt come with chrome handles.. Every other model did though..:)

Incorrect. All pre-series 2 TJ Magnas had the chrome strip regardless of Executive, VR-X or Verada Ei/Xi. And then in Series 2 all 'sporty' models (bad KJ GTV) had no chrome strip and simply a black strip. That includes the Series 2 TJ Sports, VR-X and Ralliart.
We learn something new everyday, huh? ;)

I paid a little under $50 a handle but that is trade. they cost more retail, a little over $60 each i think. they come in all the colours TLs came in which is the same as TJs. any ealier models that dont share a common colour with these models will have to be painted, so factor that into the cost. aRDEi is right about the series 2 magnas. I have a series 1 which had chrome handles, orange verada corner lights, 16 inch wheels(****e) and no electric aerial(double ****e). probably some other differences as well that dont matter. I've rectified the latter two problems. as for the pics i'll try and figure something out as i dont have a digital camera. In fact i dont even have a computer, this is my mates.

actually im pretty sure vrx and sports had chrome strip aswell. Just it has a plastic lining ontop that you should be able to cut off. I noticed my doorhandles had a black plastic lining on them originally that was taken off when i took delivery of the car.
