just wondering what people are running for springs. i've seen a lot said about low and super low, lovells and kings etc but still unsure. i can get a good price on 30mm lowered king springs and am thinking this is the way to go on a TH. are many of you running 30mm lower and do you find it suits with 17" wheels? and still not decreasing ground clearance too much?
anything anyone can give me would be great.

Hey Jolly,
well i used to have 17s and i run Lovell Superlows All Round with KYB Struts...
bought the body down very well, and looks perfect on 17s, the lows just dont bring it down enough and a couple of days later when your used to it you will think its still standard height and you will wish it was lower.....
Now i have 18s and Super Lows All Round and it looks beautiful, some minor issues though.... if u turn full lock when stopped the tyres will just brush the inner side of the guards, but that only happens when not moving, the other is some driveways that are a little too steep you wont be able to get up... unles u go on some insane angle
Anyway, if you decide to go Super Lows Allround (which i strongly suggest you do) then PM me and ill hook you up with some very very well priced Lovells (Super Lows) much cheaper than anyone else can get them...
Anyway let me know.

sorry to hijack
was just wondering if anyone knows how much lower superlows are to stock (mm) as my insurance company wont insure me if i go lower then 30mm.
also do you need to replace shocks same time as springs?
again sorry.

Super lows are 45-60 mm lower than stock, depending on application,
i put them in my 2001 TJ Sports and it bought it down 47mm all round.....
as sports are lower then execs by 15mm due to suspension changes it should bring an exec down about 60mm,
so if u were wanting to keep your insurance just stick with lows.... not superlows, they will viod your insurance.
As for replacing the shock when u replace springs.... you dont HAVE to, but i strongly recommend you do, stock shocks with aftermarket springs will wear much much quicker.
anyway, hope this helps..

G'day Moe i have the same problem as you NRMA told me i can't go below 30mm lowering so got King lows they lower it ~30mm it does make it look better then stock for sure but i wish i was allowed super lows cause beefmagna's ride look great on them :)
But yeah im sticking with my insurer and just lows because the next best qoute i got was nearly double what im paying :D

Thanks for the compliment BR...
Super lows brought my car down perfectly, sometimes i do have a few scrapage issues, but im willing to put up with that for a lower looking car.... you see im a bit of a poser....
i dont know if you can tell by the pic, but i when my ride was standard height i could sit my fist on top of the tyre and it still wouldnt touch the the upper edge of the wheel arch (about a 10-12cm gap between tyre and arch), and it looked like a 4wd.... now i cant even fit 2 fingers in the same space.... i love how low it sits.... would never go back, but having said that my insuarance costs me $1061 (Full Comp) per year, so i pay for it......
