I bondoed a screen to my center piece, but wanted to get back the original color. how do you get that paint color. does the mitsu dealer have them??

Why dont you just paint it back black or gun metal grey like the original? Else you could try getting the pieces from wreckers.

i dont think you can get the colour that mitsubishi paints their centre consoles. It would be easier to just respray all your console bits black.

There is no point in getting a new one, I have a screen stuck to it, bondoned, primered & sanded.

I'm don't feel like donig the whole thing. Sanding that little center piece took ages.
Anyways, I just wanted to confirm the steps for repainting the center console. this is what i did:

1: cleaned & sanded the bits.
2: bondoed the screen.
3: snaded again.
4: applied 3-4 layers of primer.
5: snaded again.
6: applied 3-4 layers of lacquer paint (the guy at the paint shop said that this paint doesn't need any gloss coat layers).
7: sanded again.

anything that can be done to improve it??
by the way, this is my daily driver so it needs to be tough & a scratch resistant.
what do you people think??

Who wants orgininal colour, go for a gun metal metallic grey look better then standard, give it a clearcoat to shine too :)

Take the piece to your local auto paint store and get them to do a colour match; they can also premix the paint for you in a tin (if you have a compressor) or in a rattle-can.

Gun metal grey colour code is: Shade 47729

this is the color of my interior i don't think any other color (than black) would fit!!:confused:

gun metal grey does fit, it looks black untill there is light on it.

U can get it from anywhere, just goto a paint shop (auto) and ask them to colour match it.
