putting them in was pretty hard and messy

How did you go with the HU ? :) How did you install the 6x9's ? did you have to use spacers ?

didn't use spacers
the head unit worked fine except the antenna does go up and down

getting the 6x9's in was a b*tch i would try spacers if your going to try

I have 6x9's in my other 1st gen but i had to use spacers. Now that i got my Elante, i want to install new speakers in it but i dont want any spacers. Might install a good pair of 6.5's or something.

What do you mean about the Antenna ? There is a blue wire with a white stripe and a blue wire with no stripe. One of them is for an amp and one is for an antenna. The ony difference between the amp and ant one iirc, is the ant one is only activated when the stereo is in radio mode and turns on when you listen to a cd and the amp one is on everytime you turn the deck on.
