some people see the good side (just have a problem with the bogon factor i will drive a V8 till i die) i wonder what would happen if he was offered a new M5.

i am seeing more and more 380s around. go the 380.

Yeah good to see people trying new things.

Cant believe they threw in 20's and lowered it for him!!

Got to laugh at the bogan V8 responses to him buying a 380VRX.
They can him for buying a six cylinder, well id take my magna (or a 380) anyday over a oil burning piston slaping GEN3 commodore (i wonder how many of these neanderthals have actually driven a good aussie 6)
If i was going to buy a bogan mobile it would be either a XR6Turbo or a Typhoon not a V8 aussie noise machine.

To me the real V8 aussie cars died in the early 70's, im just not a fan of the latest aussie V8 cars

Want more posiitive news? Our fleet is about to add a second 380! This is not something that will cause MMAL to suddenly start planning for overtime production. But still it is good news.

There sure are a lot more 380s on the road in Newcastle - one such prat had a go at dragging me until we both got pulled up by a bus parked across both lanes. Is was a manual, model unknown - I didn't get to see the back of it lol

i think the car IS slowly starting to gain acceptance.. the sales figures have been steadily growing over the last couple of months and although its still quite a bit below their (revised) sales target this new series II "re-launch" might just do the trick! I really really hope so, although i still stand by what i said a couple of weeks back that i thought mitsubishi didn't do enough with the 380 (particularly with styling and lack of ESP/curtain airbags/reach adj. steering), i still think its a really really nice car that i would be very proud indeed to own and i think ALOT of australians would feel the same if they give it a go, as proved by the above mentioned "unexpected" owner

This is very amusing guys!! lol This was MY thread over on the LS1 forum and I have just got my account set up over here. Im not going to can the guys over there, most of them are a really great bunch of blokes and are very knowledgable with motor vehicles and we all share the same passion.

Horses for courses, it was the time to change and I couldnt be happier with my choice. My previous ride before the SS was a KF Verada and that was probably the best car (apart from my current one of course) that I have ever owned.

Cheers!!

Hey Veearex i came over from the other forum as well. You may have seen my name plastered around the forum. Went from a VZ SS to a Verada. Small world. Cant complain the Verada has been so much more reliable than the previous Holdens i have owned. Enjoy the new car.

i can tell you you'll get better than 565km/tank, my sis' ks gets around that and gen 2's are renound for being not as inefficient my motor's not on song and it get's 500 no worries; i think most 3rd gens get over 600k's/tank i hope to hear the 380 is even better; congrats on the buy.
About the thread on ls1 i don't think i'd want a new model v8 nigglin like that i'd go a 65 mustang where you'd expect that:badgrin: ...oneday. How'd the xr6 or falcon compare to the 380 and what other cars did you drive??

And congrats im sure you'll love the build quality
peace out

If driven sensibly you should be able to get around 10-11km per 100km.

I know mate, I've had 2 TF's personally and somthing like 6 Magnas through the family, you can get better then that if your car is in perfect condition (used to get 620-640 in my auto TF:shock: ).

I used to be able to get 600km a tank when driven like a granny (in my manual), but even if I try that now I doubt I'll acheive it, I'm thinking the 2.5" cat back exhaust change has somthing to to with it.

my fuel economy has risen to about 12l/100km around town of late, which is a killer with petrol prices at the moment. $20 petrol doesnt go much further than 100kms

However, my car is badly in need of a service, and i would expect the fuel ecoomy to return to its normal 10.5-11l/100kms after that.

Congrats to the new guy on his fine purchase, I test drove a 380 VRX, really nice machine, loved the handling and throaty exhaust note.

Please post pics, have seen them rollin on 19's but 20's, that I would luv to see.

PS, good colour choice too.
