Why doesn't Mitsu make more noise about fuel consumption? It's advertising campaigns make no reference to the fuel efficiency of its current engines. I'm an old hand with Mitsu products and their fuel consumption, ie 2.0L Sigma manual = 20 mpg, 2.6L Sigma auto 16 mpg, TP 2.6L manual carb wagon 22 mpg, TS 2.6L manual injected sedan 22 mpg. I was very surprised when my wife bought a 2.0L 2004 Lancer manual and I discovered it is more potent than any of the older cars, and gets 10 Km per L around town and 15 Km per L. on a country trip at 110-120 KPH!
So when did Mitsu get its act together with good fuel economy? What is the consumption like on the 3.0, 3.5 L V6 engines and the current 3.8L engines?

The 380: combined: 10.8l/100km auto and 11.5l/100km manual me thinks.
My GTVi AWD gets 13l/100km around town.

Not impressed, sorry. I thought with the 380 is should be way better than those figures as my TE is nearly the same if not better, and I am sure some of the other magnas here perform better would agree.

Heh? Your TE would be a 3 litre v6 with less weight to pull. Put in the same amount of
equipment and strengthened body, your TE would be lucky to use 15l/100km if not more.

My TJ gets 10.2L /100km. I'm happy.

Agreed. in fact we should just delete all the post now should we?
I have requested for a sticky but I guess no one bothered. So we will keep getting the following:

Fuel consumption
Oil recommendation (sick of this as its been covered and I even gave alist)
Type of fuel to use
Fuel cleaners
ATF fluid change

I recon there should be sticky as you can find at least 5-10 of each especially FC thread:doubt:

All of those above should be stickied, and no-one should start a new thread if the answer is already in the sticky thread

Is really down and up to the mods. is only how some of us think. But I really agree on this since last year. I start delete on some of my post here now.

since buying my kr verada i have been keeping a constant check on my fuel consumption. firstly i started using the ethanol fuel car didn't really seem to like it and still doesn't. then i discovered these fuel pills called FFI, i was a bit skeptical when i read the " testamonials " but i gave them ago. fuel consumption went from 10L/ 100klm to 9.2 to 8.9 to 8.6-8.8 and this was constant.
then one nite i was watching the inventors and they had this chap on who has these wing type things you put on your roof 100mm above the rear winscreen www.fuelsavers.com.au . so i bought some $110 for the set. the idea of them is to smooth the airflow over the back of the car getting rid of the turbulance. you can definitely feel the difference with the car it seems to run better and smoother ( well to me anyhow ) returned about 8.8ltrs/100klm worst was 9.2 but that was with ethanol fuel which i think was a bit crook.
the next thing i tried was magnets NC TECH on the fuel line one on the exit of the fuel filter and the other just before the fuel rail. these magnet were the strongest ive ever seen, took 2 hands to get them out of the letter box. well i must say that they do work the throttle response is much better engine drivability is a lot better. these magnets are not the yellow plastic coated ones you see on ebay. even though i got the magnets off ebay they are just a plain silver colour and cost $35 posted.
havent used the tablets for a bit as i do approx 800klm a week so would use a few. have just used the fuelsavers and the magnets combined with that new shell unleaded fuel and got 8.4Ltrs/100klm for 2 tank fulls. from now on though all i will use fuel wise in shell new unleaded no use for premium anymore as i am getting excellent fuel consumption.
All the miles quoted is 95% city driving with short long runs to 100klmh. my kr verada has 285,000klm on the clock is running 17x7.5 inch rims is automatic. currently using pennziol 15w40 semi syn with a purealator filter ( way better than ryco )
