Gday all,
Been looking seriously at purchasing the below JVC headunit to replace my older JVC CD player and just wondering if anyone has one or have heard anything about them.I personally really like JVC units for price versus bang for your buck.
http://www.jvc-australia.com/products/_products_sub_group_details.asp?ID=1396
The main reason i am looking at this unit is because of the following:
* 4x70 Watts max (35 watts x 4 RMS per channel) (as i dont want a seperate amp yet)
* SD card slot
* Decent EQ settings and customizable
* Digital radio ready
I can get this unit from JB HIFI for $640 cash (after some hard haggling!!)

that is a great headunit!!.... we got a model below that in our TJ...
if your planning to do a good install.... you'll prob have to get external amps anyways for splits etc etc....
go for it... you wont be disappointed...

Thanks for the input
glad you like your JVC unit!
I have already have fitted decent Alpine S series 6.5" coaxials in sound deadened front doors and the rear parcel shelf aswell and have a 200 watt RMS Jaycar response amp powering a single 10" Rockford Fosgate sub in a sealed box in the boot.The Alpine speakers are very effecient at 92 DB/M and are rated to a max of 40 watts RMS so the head units high power should run them perfect as they already sound pretty good of of my current 19 watt RMS deck,so 35 watts RMS should get the midbass and highs from the alpine`s pumpin`!!

I've just recently purchased that HU myself.
I must say, it is bloody good!
One bad point though, after purchasing the HU, I now realise just how bad my stock speakers are. I was planning on upgrading them in the future, but after installing the HU, the stock speakers are teh gheyness. So, an upgrade will be coming shortly.
It is powerful as well, as you mentioned. I just cant wait to upgrade my speakers and see what it sounds like with the full system.
Cause right now, my speakers arent doing my HU any justice at all.
Another thing, SD car loading, is really quick, like 1-2 seconds. Not as slow as some other SD playable HU's. My friend has the JVC KD-LHX555 (great HU as well), and it takes 10 seconds or so to load the SD card.
All in all, it is a great HU. If you end up purchasing it, you wont be disappointed.
Now I must save up slowly for my sub/amp combo....
Arggggggh the pain..........
This seems like deja-vu though...

Thanks for the rundown SPAM ,sounds the goods eh?
charlos camelos,Im getting mine through JB HIfi,but they are out of stock so they are trying to source me a new one from an interstate branch,as i didn`t want the unit in the board (ex demo),but they sound like a great unit dont they?,with 35 watts RMS @ 0.08% THD,they should get most effecient speakers thumping and the SD card looks great to me,saves me rootin` around burning disks and having to find them in the car etc.Ill let you know if i get one boys
