No worries, and i guarrentee you will have to cut away abit of plastic in where the hole is for the speakers (this is what the stock ones sit on). This is because the stock magnet is VERY small. Dont worry, this plastic is NOT needed and will let you fit whatever 4 inches in the dash you want :).

i would save that $50 and put it towards some basic 6"s
Not worth 1 ounce of effort putting new 4"s in.
6" ftw

well wen i upgraded mine on the old car i picked up some cheap kenwoods for $30, can get pioneers for round the same price...need em if ur headunit is not stock and puttin out more power than the fronts can handle lol and judging by the fact its a 92 car, i'm guessin the fronts wouldnt b rated to high, so upgrading them just untill he has the money for a full install is a fair choice. and who knows, the old ones might have blown!
and hey, for $30-$50, is it really that big a deal if he gets them? lol

5w rms, 15w max, made of cork and cardboard. Not a good mix for a 50w headunit channel (so i found out in my TR  ). If only running off the HU it's fine, not everyone wants to chop up their doors to fit 6" speakers.

not a chance!
only 4"s will fit.
I say 6" cuase you can put them into the door, only thing is you have to cut into your door trim.
Just worth the effort to put them in the doors if you want to amp them later on.

I heard they were only 5.25" speakers.
if u want a speaker that'll fit in the hole behind the door trim then go for 6.5" speaker, it should fit flush to the edges, well mine did 6.5" cadence us6k splits, 150w RMS bit expensive though, btw i have a blue passenger front door skin with a 6.5" hole directly over the hole where the speaker is, i got it from a wrecker (it did not have holes when i got it), it has no additional pieces on it such as snipper button surround or door handles etc.. but it fits on fine if some one would like to have it or use it as a template i would gladly sell it for $15 or so, vinyl isnt damaged, trust me, for a TR GLX owner a hole already in the door skin is a blessing, i had to find it, and the other thing is if you plan to mount the speaker in the doors i recommend mounting it straight to the metal frame in the door and not to the skin as my whole car vibrates and pulses to the music with just these speakers, and if they were mounted in the door skin i get the feeling it might damage the skin or something.

So there's a speaker hole just like the rear parcel shelf as well.
I got my rear speakers in this afternoon perfect fit no need to drill holes etc. :D

there is a hole for the speakers but the holes around it are to secure a bracket (like a verada one or something which would contain 5.25" speakers) and dont line up anywhere near the appropriate area for yout to screw a speaker in, and thats why i drilled holes, its not hard i used a 3mm drill bit to make a pilot hole for a sheet metal screw but if you arent comfortable with taking off your door skin i say take it to a place where they can do it or ask someone here if they can, as when i did it i knew my door frames well and had previously installed central locking in them, if u do decide to do this yourself wiring them up can be a *****, if u have a problem wiring them up let me know and tell u what i did as i cant be ****ed writing it up atm
