Other than a different grille and different tail light reflector garnish I can't tell the difference between the TR and the TS, what other differences were there? Cosmetic or mechanical?
The interiors dash and console appears the same to me as well.
What (if any) improvements were there made to the TS over the TR?

Mechanical
From what I heard the heads are different on the TS but you can put a TS head onto the TR.

Yep, the TS's got the Hemi heads...
The centre console on the TS's got the cushioned lid, whereas the TR's got a gaping big hole... Also some other little things i've noticed (not that they make much difference) is that in the auto's, the shifter base (where the P R N D 2 L are written) is mounted differently. In the TR's it is helb by screws, and in the TS's it is held by clips. And the top radiator hoses on the 4cyls are also different, the TR uses a 2 piece with clamps at the centre mount; the TS uses a single piece top hose (as seen in the pics).

Umm... yeh apart from that, its just the interior trims (colours and patterns), also some TR's didn't get door cards, whereas ALL TS's did.
Can't really think of too much else, although i'm sure there is other differences.
IMHO, The TS's are better especially in the 4cyls, but in the 3L's, theres not that much difference to worry about. Just cosmetic bits...
Oh also (don't mean to hijack) did any owners get the underseat tray's in the 2nd gens? mine didn't come with one so i flogged one off a TN SE.

I'm pretty that was just the 4cyl though, not the V6

Yes it is just in the 4cyls... AFAIK the 3L's are exactly the same.

"the TS's IM SURE came with color coded mirror casings"
i have a ts base model with black mirrors, so yeah my casings are black not colour matched with the body, however i have noticed the speedos are different in the ts/trs.
on the tr 100 is straight up, whereas in the ts, straight up is 110

That might be becuase the 4 cyl's speedo only go to 200 whereas the V6's go to 220 :D

Thanks for your great responses everyone, it is only the V6's which concerned me and I figured that the engines were identical and that other changes were simply cosmetic.
Thanks :) I am thinking that a TR or TS would be a great car for my wife.

Yeah, what is the performance specs of the TS head over the TR head?, kw, nm and at what revs :) hehe. Also is the fuel economy different?

the obvious structral difference is the TS has adjustable seatbelt pivots in the 'B' pillars.
There are no figures i know of directly comparing the 4cyl TR and TS head.
The TR and TS engines had different pistons and combustion chambers in the heads but the piston changes compensate for the head and give both engines the same compression ratio.
The ideal cheap high compression 4cyl using factory parts is to put the TS head complete with camshaft over STANDARD TR EFI pistons and bottom end.
I have done this before in an auto TR using a 2nd hand head resulting in noticable gains in both performance and economy, an otherwise standard auto TR that consistantly got 550km a tank on ulp.
I will do this mod on my current TR magna when I get the time.
If you can get complete TS heads with cam for $25 and say $100 for quality gaskets then go for it. you'll get more throttle response and it would pay for itself in fuel savings over a few 1000k's, if you get the same fuel economy gain i did.

hmm, i have a 9/95 ks verada and my g/f has a 2/95 ks verada and m ines held in by clips and hers is scrwed in, dunno if the crash shop coulda changed hers when it got repaird there or not but yah I noticed that when I replaced mine

The TR I have currently IIRC has a TS head - I think that the compression ratios are different. I'll be seeing the mechanics this weekend - they know the cars history well enough (and also they wreck Magnas - so I'll be telling them about the site...)
