Want to know what the guage at normal running temerature for a 2002 Magna Executive 3.5 V6 should show. When the car is stopped there is a ticking noise as it cools and the hose and cap are hot to touch. Any thoughts?

that would be pretty much normal, the cap n hose would be hot, the ticking is ur cat convert cooling down, normals mine sits (on da temp gauge) just below the first line under half, so its all good mate

Yeh just below half or line under for me too.

Mine sits right on the centre line. It doesn't budge wether it is summer or winter or under load.

Mines never gone over a half, but often on long highway trips at night it will drop abit below half.
