hey guys

I'm currently borrowing a TH Sports from work for the weekend that I am looking to Purchase.

Its a 99 TH Sports Auto. Its got 178,000kms on the clock and looks it very good condition.

what I want to know is anything I should be paying close attention to with checking it over.

I work in Mitsu Spare Parts at a dealership and the things I see is the Fuel Sender Units going. Anything else?

Thanks in Advance

You would also realise that its getting close to time for a timing belt change = $$

Yeah I know that

I'm sure I could find a willing mechanic at work to do that

I think one of the major problem i've seen so far is the automatic transmission. Unfortunately I've seen too many people having issues, and a few with blown auto's.

Not sure how you can properly check the condition of the 'box though without taking it apart.

Check the idle as well once its warmed up. A good throttle body with a good idle speed motor will idle really smoothly, revs shouldn't pulsate up and down.

Other than that, there's not much more that can go wrong. Make sure you test it out on the open road/highway, something I didn't do. Wasn't until I hit the highway when the engine started to feel like it was struggling. It turned out that one of the sensor connections were faulty so it was all good afterwards.

The box seems to shift fine, haven't felt it slip

I had a good highway drive coming home from work, advantages of being 65kms from work

Had a real good look over it today, threw it up on the jack

apart from needing a few little things doing here and there the car seems to be in good condition.

Have found some helpful info on here for a few things I didn't know

all going to plan it will be mine this week:D
