now ive got this noise and i want to know if anyone else has had problems with there power steering. it only happens at low speeds like 0-10 klms , like when u pull into a car park and it only happens when turning the wheel. it sounds like a creeking noise (like a old door). now theres no leaks and the fluid is the same color as new. im not 100% sure its the steering but thats my first thoughts. any other ideas on what it could be?? ive had it up on stands and had a good look but everything seems to be in order.

if its the drive shafts wouldn't it be a clicking sound?? and wouldn't the noise happen every time i turned. cos the noise ive got is only at very low speeds, but thanks for the reply

check that the power steering fluid is at the correct level and that the belt is tight enough that its not slipping when under max load (eg under 10km/h) or when parked and turning your wheels

so buffy does that mean i can expect it to brake or start leaking some time in the next few months. only just started to make this noise a few days ago. it just had me a bit worried cos of the creaking and i didn't want anything to snap or leak at high speeds giving me no steering. but if u say thats normal then it all good .

tyres arent hitting are they? after i replaced my pwr steer rack and got wheels aligned htey seem to hit, or at least on full lock a bad noise, anyway full lock should be avoided so i just take 3 point turns or 5 point turns sometimes, shocking eh! only really turn the wheel that much at low speeds.

when i bought the car i gave all the mechanicals a service, part of that was replacing every fluid and at that time i dumped out all the old power steering fulid and put new stuff in and bled it all. the main reason i got worried was cos it should all be working good seeing as i gave it a overhaul. it all looks fine just that dam noise, ill keep an ear out to see if it gets worst and if so ill get it reconed. as for turning i never go full lock cos that was the first thing i noticed when i took my first drive in it. dosent like it much. thank u guys for ya help much appreciated. helps to have a 3rd persons view. finger crossed it dosent get any worse
oh and the tyres dont touch though i might as well see. but next week might be diffrent when i get my 15' mags , but after that im gonna get the steering kit and control arm kit off ebay and then a wheel alignment.should handle better then.
