What sort of discounts are dealers doing on new 380s at the moment?
Thinking about trading the BA for a 380SX.....

You'd be lucky to get and discount on the 380SX considering that if you go to a dealer and ask they are in demand and alot of people are looking at that model. As for RRP pricing anyway, you'll still be getting a good deal, as the 380SX has so much kit for so little price.

BUT being a Mitsubishi dealer they're always likely to throw in something extra or maybe take $1k or two off the price. But, because of the new pricing this is harder to do and is not really needed to be done in terms of the original price.

Second Comment: Are you particuarly wanting a brand-new 380 or not? Because if you were looking for Sporty looks along with luxury quite a few dealers have some 380GT '05 models with under 5,000km on them for $36,990 driveaway. They have leather, sunroof, bluetooth, 17" GT style rims and the awsome looking taillights.

In terms of value you can't go past a demo or even dealer discounted 380. The new pricing is so cheap I doubt it dealers will discount the 380ES and 380SX is much and the 380VRX won't get trimmed down much either as it now has better mags, leather, ECM and things like that to up spec it, yet it has dropped by $1k in pricing. The only models that will get discounted a bit by dealers is the 380LX and 380GT as they are more expensive and for most of the public it will initially be out of the price range for and may not see the point in going past the VRX in terms of price. Especially considering the only difference between the 380VRX and 380GT is the memory seats and standard bluetooth and it costs $6k extra. So dealers will definitely offer this a few $k cheaper along with the LX.

Still though, dealers may try and push buyers into these upper models if they are smart. They could offer the GT to them for $41k - $42k and throw in some dealer accessories if they feel the need.

Spotted at Agostino's Mitsubishi, Adelaide. '05 Mitsu 380 for 28,800, auto. About 7000km.

When Mitsubishi is advertising Series 2 380ES for 27,990 the ex demo is a bit to swallow at first glance.

Series 2 price is for manual, and does not include ORC. The ex demo is auto, and I don't know about ORC...

Yeah, I seen the one you're talking about. We get our Verada serviced at Agostino's and the one you're talking about is $28,880 driveaway.

If they pointed out to a potential customer that was interested in getting it that ORC and dealer delivery on a new 380 series II would bring the price up to around $30k they'd sell quite a few of these.

But, they won't do that, what will happen is that the demo SI base model will sit their until they reduce it by $2k because they will have more emphasis on getting rid of new stock as it is a 'hot product' at the moment and alot of orders for the base and SX have been placed, by all accounts the SX has a waiting list at some dealers ? I was talking to the sales rep their on Friday and he said that just for their dealer he reckon's that 380 sales are up by about 25% so far; which is promising.
