every first gen owner that ive talked to about this recons it is. they say the fuel economy is better and it revs alittle more freely. and considering u pay 50-60 bucks for the paper one and have to change it a few times each year there 150 just there. also u can clean and reuse the k&n 3- 5 times (only an esitimate) it pays for it self in a year.

i didn’t get a K&N filter but i got some other brand from super cheap and apparently it was the performance 1 and it improved fuel economy and had more open surface area for air to come which costed aprox $35 and improved fuel econ allot plus did a carby clean/injector clean

yup totally recommend
your kidding your selfs if you say theres a power increase tho, it will rev alot more freely but thats about it
i also took out that ****ty paper slincer behind sensor, took off the snorkle and bored the tb and this with K&N makes a HUUGE deep induction noise its louder then the exhaust, SA people know how kickass it sounds :D

nar you can clean/reuse the K&N alot more times then that, these if looked after and well cleaned will out live the car twice over if not more

Go the K&N,
Before I did CAI, I cut off the inlet resonator off the bottom of the standard snorkel and plugged it up.
This also gives it a nice note to the induction.
Also I heated the end up and gave it a nice smooth bell mouth for better flow.

take off airfilter holder and look through back (part that connects to intake hose to throttle body) and u will see some circular object with what looks liek zig zagging cardboard.
take out airfilter and then unscrew maf inside, then you can remove it.

also teles right, i dont know why yous are cutting it up for.. cos you just pull it out :doubt:
and for the record, it does actually soften the induction noise, hence why it had to go :bowrofl:
