hey all just a Q if this would work good or not, its just an idea i've been throwing around
from the throttle body the intake is gonna come down to the front with the MAF along it and split into 2 in a bent Y connection going to either side, then down the from sides (like the current CAI i have now). halfway down it'll have an electric supercharger on each (i know these things dont have the oomph of a real supercharger (nowhere near) but its just for fun). then pod filters on end
ok now some Q's other than if that would even be cool.
i have the gear and know how to do this myself but would the MAF sensor even be able to handle it. and later on i want to get a haltech or Greddy, but would i need one right away. and also is the places i have the MAF and superchargers good places or where would u recomend
Cheers for any opinions and feel free to kick me in the face for a stupid idea if u think its dumb.
EDIT: soz i accidently voted excelent as i had bill and ted flash backs so take no notice as this thread is not really excellent

ive done this myself with an eram electric supercharger most of the qmd boys has seen my set up. and i didnt hav any issue at all. been dynoed with it and gained a kw from it. the s/c is under neath between radiator and transaxle and is attached to a 90mm pipe which is connected to the standard airbox with a k&n panel in it

so these superchargers work with the MAF thats good news well looks like i'll be going ahead with making some of these for intereseted parties of amc. just think of it now chromed twin CAI with a possability of electric superchargers. then u'd have an engine bay worthy to show those stupid shytlines

Is this a typo of did you literally gain one kilowatt from it?

well all you need is a 12V that spins insanely fast a has a high CFM rating.
im not gunna try and make up figures but its increadable how fast u need to spin them to even get 1 PSI of Boost

a 2.0 litre engine naturally draws about 200 CFM, the difference of over 800 CFM creates approximately 2.0 psi of pressure boost. This results in approximately 7% gain in overall power output, kilowatts or horsepower.
as i said its for fun and i'd be running 2x of these. should be interesting and i shall post up dyno's and stuff for peeps to check out

Dude, sorry was lil bit tipsy...damm biology lectures driving me to drink!
I too am interested in this, as im a cheapskate and cant afford to do the job properly, would you post up some info about where u got the e-chargers from etc

OK since there is jack **** all information in this thread here is the website and some info from it.
http://www.force-flow.com they are based on the Sunshine Coast and they have dyno sheets proving that they gained 7.5% power, its $329 for a single setup or just over $600 for a dual which could be around 13% power increase, for those prices i'm not complaining thats awesome.
They spin at 27,500rpm and produce upto 2.0PSi.
Remember even though 2psi doesn't sound much even 0psi is still a power increase from stock as its a vacuum beforehand :)

Im buying 2 when i get my tax back for sure, and will get twunka to high flow my throtle body aswell :)

Yes I was at the dyno when Dark Magician gained 1kw, read it 1kw. All that money for 1kw, it's not worth it. Also he has his before the MAF, if you put it after the MAF I think it would be more efficient. The reason I think this is cause the air is hitting the filter.
But there noisy as **** and not worth it, get a cat back exhaust and you'll be much happyier, and it will probably be cheaper to.

well its not a typo coz its the whole qld dyno day wen it was dynoed so cant make it up buddy

1kw peak power, but look at the graph on Force-Flows site, clearly shows more power down low and right through the range, its not just about the highest output :D
