I changed the coolant in my Magna on the weekend and noticed that after I started the car it run quite rough for about 30 seconds. Is that normal?

It's running fine now. But I'm just worried that it's a sign the head gasket is leaking?

Is it possible that the coolant just needed to circulate?

I guess so? Are cars rough after the front end being jacked up for a while?

Springs might need to settle for a sec, but nothing engine wise. Just keep an eye on it, you should be right :).

being efi did u remember to squesse the top hose to make sure theres no air bubble at al cos efi engine dont like air in the cooling system. cos once uve changed ur coolat ur suposed to run it foe 2 mins then give the top hose a squesse and then do it one more time.
spring settle wft?? unless uve just put in brand new springs, then no they wont settle just sag in time. got nothing to do with the suspension.

Ah yes the air bubbles. Didn't think of that.
Oh and i wasn't saying that his suspension would have caused it, he just asked would his car be affected by having it jacked up for a period of time. The springs will sit higher until they gradually settle back down :). But not related to his problem, hope that clears things up :).

THe ECU on injected cars uses a Water temp input to determine how much "choke" it creates by changing fuel/Air ratio when cold, if you have any air pockets etc it obviously takes a little while for the water to reach above this sensor.
This can give rough running for a few sec until water level is regained.
